Chip Rosenbloom, the son of Carroll Rosenbloom and Georgia Frontiere, says in response to a report that the St. Louis Rams are for sale that the St. Louis Rams won’t be moving.
But he doesn’t specifically say they aren’t for sale.
“It has only been four months since my mom passed away,” Rosenbloom said. “Her passing immediately caused speculation that we were selling the team. We’ve been approached by several people.
“And while we deal with her estate, I can assure you we have every intention of keeping the Rams in St. Louis.”
The article in which Rosenbloom’s quotes appear don’t include a specific quote from him that the team isn’t for sale. Instead, he says only that “we have every intention of keeping the Rams in St. Louis.” (I presently have every intention of not devouring a dozen Oreos and chasing them with two milkshakes before going to bed. Whether that actually comes to pass is a minute-by-minute battle, which at any minute I might lose.)
Meanwhile, our pal Howard Balzer of the Sports Xchange advises us that any suggestion that the Rams’ lease expires after the 2012 season is simply incorrect.
“The Rams lease technically doesn’t expire until 2025,” Balzer said. “However, there is a ‘flash point’ in 2015 where the stadium has to be considered in the upper quarter of the league.”

With INDY just getting a Super Bowl, It could be a model for St. Louis to follow. If they are paying attention.

Translation - WE have every intention to stay, but whoever drives a truck full of money up to door to buy us out after enough time has gone by that it doesn’t look like we are dancing on our mom’s grave - THAT GUY might move the team!

Oh, until they sell her estate, and take their millions elsewhere.
L.A. perhaps…?
Back Home, Again?
I give it 4 years tops, bet on 2.

The lunacy continues… The team underperforms and the issue is whether or not this bunch of ragmuffins will be sold, get out of their lease, will the stadium be in the upper eschelon of the No Frugality Legion??? Oh by all means, St. Louis needs to be considered for a Super Bowl because it would be sponsored by the Beer company in St. Louie??? More Spygate and let’s disect each and every word of the distinguished U.S. Senator Allwet Spector, R-PA.

is it logical to move a billion dollar franchise
to los angeles?two other teams have done it and all
they got was a luke warm reception.it turned out to be
a non starter.
if they follow the way they attend baseball games, come
in late and leave early, there goes your mechandising out
the the window and other revenue streams.

Detroit had a “flash point” too, but that was at the drive through at Wendy’s.
BTW Bradybunch: If your scenario unfolds, the next Super Bowl would be in Bugtussle.

“The Rams lease technically doesn’t expire until 2025,” Balzer said. “However, there is a ‘flash point’ in 2015 where the stadium has to be considered in the upper third of the league.”
What exactly is the criteria used to determine if the stadium is considered to be in the upper third? I would assume since a good number of stadiums have been built since the Rams moved to the dome in the mid 90s, that the stadium will not be considered among the top 10 or 11 venues…That said, the LA Coliseum is not within the top 99.5% of sports venues.
