As expected, the Miami Dolphins have signed offensive lineman Steve McKinney. A veteran of ten NFL seasons, McKinney has spent four years with the Colts and six with the Texans.
His relationship with the Dolphins will last at least one season, courtesy of the one-year deal that he signed on Sunday.
“I felt good about the opportunity to come in and provide veteran leadership,” McKinney said. ”And I thought it was a good opportunity to get back on the field.
“I’m in a position to contribute right away. The group that they’ve brought in is a good group. These are football guys, and I know they’re going to get this thing turned around quickly.”
McKinney suffered a torn ACL early in the 2007 season. He says that he’s not 100 percent yet, but that he’ll be there by the time training camp starts.

It’s hard to believe that the Phins could be worse this year than last year. If a guy like McKinney sees any real time then they’re in real trouble. Remember this folks, Parcells isn’t the coach.

Good move for the fins if he can stay healthy. Proven 10 year starter — can’t beat that.

Monger… BP would never have brought him in if he didn’t think this dude would be rock solid! Personally I like the move! Sure, I would have loved keeping Sexy Rexy Hadnot and added this McKinney. But still having depth at Oline is always important and we never had great starters nor backups in a long long time!
