Mark Curnutte of the Cincinnati Enquirer, without directly or indirectly acknowledging that he was scooped by (God forbid) a blogger, confirms that the Bengals will release linebacker Odell Thurman on Monday.
Curnutte, citing one of Thurman’s representatives, also repeats the contention that Thurman is being released for missing voluntary workouts after the death of his grandmother.
It’s unclear whether Curnutte tried (as we did) to get a response from the Bengals. If Curnutte did, he didn’t mention the effort, or the outcome.
Holy crap . . . are bloggers close to becoming even more responsible than the “real” journalists?

Uh, isn’t this a violation if the reason is for missing voluntary OTAs?

Yes Florio and anyone who thinks this is the real reason really knows better!! He obviously was drinking and got pulled over for driving. His Grandmothers death (God rest her soul)is just a poor excuse for his agent to make the ownership look like cold people. Odell was givin too many chances to right his life. And the Bengals got burned. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t. The Bengals should be givin Kudos from the leauge and other NFL fans for taking a hard stance on these troublesome turds and flushing them!
