The headline in the Kansas City Star says the “Chiefs will go easy on Johnson.” Somewhere in the distance, we can hear Michael Scott shouting, “That’s what she said.”
Anyway, tailback Larry Johnson will have a reduced role in the offseason workouts, in order to limit wear and tear on a body that includes a foot that was busted last year.
“We’ll bring him along slowly,” coach Herm Edwards said. “We’re not going to beat him up. We’re not going to rush him a whole lot. We want to see where he’s at.”
The Chiefs have 15 practices over the next few weeks. And with a new offensive coordinator, it’s important that Johnson participate, at least to a certain extent.
“He needs to get out there because we’re running a new offense,” Edwards said. “It kind of helps the running game and the whole team when he’s out there running the ball, and the guys in front of him blocking are going to be the guys doing it when the season starts.”
The Chiefs have Johnson, Kolby Smith, and rookie Jamaal Charles at the tailback position. Surely, part of the goal in selecting Charles was to prolong Johnson.
Um, that’s what she said.

SURE HERM…….until you realize your Qb sucks, still have marginal WR (I know Bowe is there), then you see LJ and “say man he is stud run him he can take it”! Same thing he did with the Jets and Pennington was better than any the qbs KC has, not much but still better.

With the Chiefs line it’s going to be a lot of Johnson-Johnson-incomplete-punt.

I thought the only TV show Florio liked was “Seinfeld”. I guess we can all start making “The Office” references as well!!

Too little, too late, I’m afraid.
Should have been “limiting” him a few years ago.

Chiefs fans are gonna forget all about Johnson sooner than they realize. Jamal Charles is going to dazzle, you watch - the kid’s gonna be a Fantasy Football STEAL in the late rounds!
Mack Brown starts his Seniors, period. He’s just that kinds old-school, family-program type guy. Even still Jamal Charles got more carries than current Broncos RB Sevin Young (though Selvin admittedly had a bum ankle).
Let Larry Johnson rot on the bench while he whines about money and number of touches; let the hungry young buck shine…
