Carl Eller, the Minnesota Vikings defensive end who was a member of the “Purple People Eaters” defensive line of the 1960s and 1970s and is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, has been cited in a traffic stop again.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that police stopped Eller on his motorcycle in Minneapolis Wednesday afternoon and found that his motorcycle did not have the required license plates with a special code on them because of his past alcohol-related offenses.

Eller’s motorcycle was impounded and he was cited and released, the paper reports.

Last month Eller was cited in a much more serious traffic stop. He was charged with two felonies, fourth-degree assault and terroristic threats, after a scuffle with Minneapolis police officers who say Eller hit and threatened them when they tried to arrest him for drunken driving and fleeing police. He was also charged with two misdemeanors, drunken driving and refusing to submit to a sobriety test.

Eller is scheduled to appear in court on May 19 for a hearing related to those charges.
