The much-anticipated press conference of Senator Arlen Specter (R-Pa.), who was planning to meet with the media after meeting with former Pats employee Matt Walsh this afternoon, has been postponed.
The press conference instead will occur tomorrow.
“The meeting started late and the duration is anticipated to go a long time,” Specter’s spokesperson, Kate Kelly, said.
Perhaps the meeting is running late because Specter keeps asking the same question over and over to Walsh, who according to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has no new evidence of cheating by the Patriots.
“Are you sure?”

Maybe they need the extra time to ‘doctor’ the video and write a new screenplay.

Big shocker there.
Specter needs more time to make something up that is between 0 and 1 percent true.

The worst thing about Goodell’s waffle on cheating is that it gives Cheatriot fans some sort of twisted justification. If fact, Goodell said that he knew Belichick was lying when he told Goodell that he misunderstood the rule. In fact, Walsh conformed that Belichick knew videotaping was cheating, and Walsh was told to not get caught.

Arlen Spector’s press conference will be shown live exclusively on the Comcast Cable System direct from their corporate headquarters in Pennsylvania. He will ask to NFL to fine the Patriots for filming Cowher spitting at certain down & distances. He will also ask the NFL to look into the Patriots tampering with the Eagle waterbottles in SB39 causing Donavan McNabb to puke in the 4th quarter.

god bless patriot fans.
so happy that this has a chance of going away now.
stop and think though. doesn’t it seem seem as likely as not that the reason the walsh/nfl/patriots negotiation took as long as it did was how much walsh was going to get to keep his mouth shut on the real dirt?
seriously, why would those discussions have taken so long if the patriots really knew there was nothing to be told? anyone who takes what just happened at face value is a patriots fan or an idiot.

Count me in as an idiot then…..I believed that the length of the discussions was due to issues at Walsh’s end, not the Patriots or NFL’s. The Patriots and the NFL offered ‘immunity’ 2 months ago….but Walsh and/or his attorney dragged their feet.
I’m curious…..just because things didn’t work out the way you hoped, anyone that is satisfied with how this has played out is an idiot? Who are you to suggest that of anyone else?

why in the world is this clown wasting my tax money on a football story? gas is 4 bucks a gallon and he is focused on something that has no effect on the average U.S. citizen?how about spending some time on asking the head of the oil companies why they never spend a dime of the billion dollar profits on building a new refinery or at least keeping up the ones they have? oh wait if they did that then they could not charge 4-5 bucks a gallon and the excuctives would not get thier multi millon dollar bonuses. but no spygate is more important right?

Put Walsh under oath! The coverup and whitewash by Goodell is so obvious to everyone who can think. Goodell made this a big deal in the first place then completely reverses himself - but it’s too late now Roger!

Usually this time of year I’m bored and longing for football or football news of any kind. This year is different though. When I need a little entertainment I just hit the message boards and read the ridiculous crap being spewed by pats fans everywhere.
Everyone in that organization should be hanging their heads in shame. How could Belichick a so-called “genius” get caught up in such a disgraceful scandal. And how can pats fans think that none of this tarnishes their legacy?

These people will twist the facts to suit their purposes and explain away why their teams can not get by the super pats. They build up a frenzy and then when the facts refute what they have been spewing and corroborate what the the Pats have said, they fall back to screaming “cheaters” and make-up cover-up stories. Get over it people the Pats were forthcoming and paid the price. There is no more to the story. Whine all you want about it you still sound like a bunch of little school children.

To all of you haters that simply want to deflect what today was about:
“We want to address the allegation that the Patriots taped the Rams’ walkthrough prior to Super Bowl XXXVI.
For the past three-and-a-half months, we have been defending ourselves against assumptions made based on an unsubstantiated report rather than on facts or evidence. Despite our adamant denials, the report ran on February 2, 2008, the day before Super Bowl XLII. That game was the second-most watched program in television history and it is unfortunate that today’s news will not also reach an audience of that size. We hope that with Matt Walsh’s disclosures, everyone will finally believe what we have been saying all along and emphatically stated on the day of the initial report: ‘The suggestion that the New England Patriots recorded the St. Louis Rams’ walkthrough on the day before Super Bowl XXXVI in 2002 is absolutely false. Any suggestion to the contrary is untrue.’”
