The much-anticipated press conference of Senator Arlen Specter (R-Pa.), who was planning to meet with the media after meeting with former Pats employee Matt Walsh this afternoon, has been postponed.
The press conference instead will occur tomorrow.
“The meeting started late and the duration is anticipated to go a long time,” Specter’s spokesperson, Kate Kelly, said.
Perhaps the meeting is running late because Specter keeps asking the same question over and over to Walsh, who according to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has no new evidence of cheating by the Patriots.
“Are you sure?”

The Pats fans I know have come to accept that the Pats are tarnished….have come to grips with it, and have gotten (is that a word?) on with their lives. When I read these threads, the MUCH stronger emotion is coming from the anti-Pats posters, with the Pro-Pats responding to the assault.
Is it REALLY that important to you that you can’t/won’t stop beating this dead horse??!!
P.S. Go Chargers!!!

Because if this didn’t involve the Patriots, it would be a non-story? I don’t see any stories about how the Broncos and 49ers legacy is tarnished by their salary cap shenanigans. Say what you want about Patriots fans, but the real bias is among the Patriots haters, who will take any and every opportunity to vent against the team they love to hate.

I wonder if Walsh has the guts to lie to a US Senator. I wonder how he will like the government watching his every move for the rest of his life. The IRS will be investigating his finances to see if his standard of living ‘ suddenly changes. Right now, he looks like a complete fool for claiming that he had damning info on the Patriots - including a walkthru tape - only to have nothing new? I don’t beleive. Everyman has his price, and the NFL found Walsh’s.

The fact that people are taking Goodells word on things is disturbing. I would expect Spector to get more to the bottom of things. This isn’t going away automatic. Lets get the due process and see what the real deal is.
You get on Spector who happens to be one of the greatest senator of our time, but all you have is Kennedy. Instead of being ignorant and stupid, read up on Spector and see what he really has done for this country. Kennedey. I would bet not a one of you were even born yet.
Can we get facts please and not from someone who is protecting his company. Spector has nothing riding on this, the NFL has a ton.
Oh, but don’t let the truth in the way.

It gets pretty ugly when a die hard Philadelphia Eagles
fan (Arlen Specter) is also a Senator. He needs to just
shut up and go away so Spygate can end. I trust that one
of his fellow Senators will advise him to just walk away.

the people who believe that the “truth” has come out are the ones who have the most invested in the “truth” being what goodell is laying out now. please.
the reason the negotiations took so long was the patriots insistence that the walsh was to be given immunity so long as he told the “truth” as judged by the patriots. seems like the actions of an organization with something to hide.
honestly, i couldn’t care less about spygate. i’m only jumping into the fray now because i think it’s ridiculous how vocal the patriots fans are being about how this walsh affair vindicates the patriots when a) it doesn’t change the fact that the patriots cheated and b) it’s obvious the nfl is doing it’s best to try to sweep any other evidence of cheating under the rug.
still, i don’t really care about the cheating. i’ve written in the past that my only real lament is that my team wasn’t the one willing to do what it took to win. the broncos cheated to get their superbowls, the niners cheated, the cowboys cheated, the patriots cheated. if that’s what it takes so be it.
what i care about is the incessant whining of patriots fans. it’s annoying. new england fans are by far the whiniest group of sissies around. take it like men. your team cheated and got caught. deal with it.
you whine 10x more than my kids.

hey meanguy: Oh its the conspiracy theory again! give it up fool thats how cowards and fools explain things they cant cope with. A typical response from you whiney little haters that cant stand the fact that things are as they seem. I know that the facts are getting in the way for you but you need to try to get over that.
As per the delay, is it really that difficult to comprehend? Remember that there were at least 3 law firms involved in these negotiations. If you have ever been in any kind of lawsuit or legal negotiation you would understand that the simplest things can take weeks to get resolved and thats when two parties agree. Imagine what its like with 3 parties involved that all disagree. You’re good at imaging things so that should come easy for you.
Try and be more original next time too.

“give it up fool thats how cowards and fools explain things they cant cope with”
what exactly can’t i cope with? i’m on record as saying i don’t care.
my only issue is how much whining you patriots fans have been doing throughout this annoying story and how you guys are somehow morphing this walsh not coming out with *more* evidence of cheating as somehow vindicating the whole organization.
here are the “facts” since you bring up the word:
- the patriots cheated
i don’t care, but that is the only meaningful “fact” in play here

Save your keyboards, obviously, (Take it from a non-Pats fan) no matter what you say, these Pat-haters have their blinders on. No matter how this whole fiasco plays out, they will be whining to the grave…they cheated…whaaa, whaa, whaaa, they cheated…whaaa, whaaa, cover up! That’s right, NON-PATS FAN, RAIDER FAN…since 1972. Yes I remember the “Snowbowl”, bad rule, correct interpatation.

@ phillyrocks:
2 things, #1)Philly does not rock… if I was to give the US an enema I would inject it in Philadelphia.
#2) The truth HAS come out, unfortunately (for you and every other conspiracy theorist loser) it is not the “truth” you were hoping for.
I blame ESPN for this… they hyped the shit out of this non-story and morons like you took their conjecture, opinion, and speculation as gospel.
The facts are out there. It’s no one’s fault but your own if you can’t accept them.

get real. what shit? the pats owned up to it, but not patriot fans. bunch of whiners that they are.
the fact that i believe the tape probably did exist is irrelevant to this discussion. i don’t think the patriots should receive any more punishment whether the tape existed or not. it’s just part of gaining an edge to win and they’ve already been punished for the taping practices.
what annoys me is patriot fans who have never been able to deal with the fact that their team got caught (first rule of cheating: don’t get caught), using this sham goodell/walsh thing to claim vindication.
