Colts receiver Marvin Harrison has told his team that he was not involved in a shooting that occurred with a gun that he owns.
And a year ago Falcons quarterback Mike Vick told his team that he was not involved in dog fighting that occurred on property that he owns.
And a decade ago Bill Clinton told us all that he did not have sexual relations with that woman.
So what should we make of Colts owner Jim Irsay’s disclosure to the Indianapolis Star that Harrison has denied involvement in the shooting, which occurred two weeks ago in Philadelphia? Does anyone expect that Harrison would say anything other than “I didn’t do it”?
Reading between the lines, Irsay seems to realize that Harrison’s self-serving version of the events is essentially meaningless. “At this point I’m keeping my fingers crossed,” Irsay said. “We’ve done everything we could do in our diligence to try to discern what happened. He said he was not involved in that shooting and . . . the authorities have said there is nothing imminent.
“You hope these things hold up to be true, that there won’t be any charges and there wasn’t any involvement. Until we hear more, this isn’t even a case of innocent until proven guilty because there hasn’t been a charge yet.”
The Colts gather for a mandatory minicamp on Friday, but Harrison might not attend, due to ongoing rehab of not one but two bad knees.
And because the intensely reclusive Harrison would face a flurry of questions about the Philadelphia incident.

And as always when confronted with telling the truth, perjuring ones self or believing your own B.S. What’s a man to do??? Also, I believe that O.J. didn’t commit any crimes either…

Until the police officially clear Harrison or charge someone else, I think Harrison’s claims of innocence need to be taken with a grain of salt.

This is the problem with the NFL’s Personal Conduct policy. If the cops don’t pursue it then Goodell will ignore it. This isn’t the first time Harrison has stepped over the line. Something has to be done to punish the Colts for keeping this turd on the team. They should forfeit their Lombardi trophy as an example to all the other teams.

Living in Philadelphia, I do not know what to believe…. but all of last week the Philadelphia police were chasing down a guy who shot a cop down after a bank robbery. It was on the TV every fifteen minutes, all the cops were focusing on that story and I think they might be waiting until this week (now that they have him) to get back to work on Harrison. It might not have been him to pull the tigger, but he might be protecting someone else who he is close too. If that is true, he would still be at fault over who used his gun.

As usual, Mike is not letting the facts get in the way of a good story. Let’s not forget how this story originated: Anthony Gargano - a WIP radio host and the eptiome of journalistic credibility - claimed that Harrison shot someone at his bar after an altercation. ESPN picked it up and Mike ran with it. What have the facts shown since? The shooting occurred a week after the altercation and Harrison was not present at the time. The facts also show that the shooting occurred with Harrison’s gun and Harrison willingly handed the gun over to polic. I e-mailed Mike the local ABC story stating that Harrison was not present at the time of the shooting but, of course, he chose not to use it.

The interesting thing for me is that this may not even play a factor in Marvin’s career. Harrison looked tentative at best, but to me played downright scared, during his all too brief comeback at the end of last season. Was he rushed back before he had fully recovered? Was he just afraid of getting hurt again?
Some have contended that he’ll never be the same and that he’ll always be in alot of pain. So did he finally realize after so many weeks that the pain really wasn’t gonna go away and/or he would have to play without feeling “100%”? In other words, did he play just to see if he still could? Regardless, the results must’ve been pretty discouraging to such a great player.
