Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens praises his quarterback, says he isn’t worried about his contract and talks about his willingness to share the ball with other receivers in an interview with Albert Breer of the Dallas Morning News.
Asked about his tearful defense of Tony Romo after the Cowboys’ playoff loss to the Giants, Owens said he has no regrets because he has so much respect for his quarterback.
“As a friend and as a person, outside being a football player, I know who Tony is,” Owens said. “Outside what I see in him as a football player, I thought they were attacking my friend, more than going after a football player. So the most natural thing for me, because I feel like he’s a brother to me, is to try to protect him. That was just the most natural thing and if I got put in that situation again, I’d probably do the same thing.”
Owens was also asked about the possibility that the Cowboys could add another star wide receiver, such as the Lions’ Roy Williams, the Cardinals Anquan Boldin or the Bengals’ Chad Johnson. And although there have been suggestions that Owens might object to sharing the featured role with one of those stars, he says he would be fine with it — just as he’s fine having more balls thrown to Terry Glenn this year, if Glenn is healthy again.
“If it’s Terry, or if it’s Roy or Anquan or Chad, I would welcome them,” Owens said. “I just want to win.”
As for his contract, the issue that led to Owens’ departure from Philadelphia, he says he’s not worried about it, even though he’s heading into the final year on his current deal.
“There was a situation where the contract didn’t work out in Philly,” Owens said. “With this, I’m going to let it play out and not try to be a distraction. I’ll let it take care of itself. I’m a firm believer that things will work out for the best.”
And with that, a lot of people in Philadelphia must be wondering, “Where was this guy three years ago?”

This site usually panders to the Cowboys haters out there so it’s interesting to see them post something positive, even if it all it does is provoke the Cowboys/TO haters into spewing their usual bile.
TO’s been great since he’s been in Dallas. Romo has gone to two Pro Bowls in his first two years as a starter and the Cowboys probably have the most talented roster in the NFC. Let the haters vent, if these losers are all we have to worry about then I’m a happy Cowboys fan.

The only thing TO and Romo have in common is they have the same number of playoff wins 0.

It’s great that the Cowboys sent so many players to the Pro Bowl. I agree that they have a very talented team. But the NYG sent EVERY player to the Super Bowl, when they had one Pro Bowler on the team. So that must mean that Wade Phillips is the worst coach in the NFC, and Coughlin is the best. I’m not a TO, Romo, or Cowboy hater. I attribute the Cowboy’s problems last year to coaching. Phillips just let off the gas, and allowed people to coast. Simple as that.
And to all the Cowboys fans, don’t get so worked up. It’s only the internet!

What’s the Cowboys ranking on the turd watch again??? I think its on this actual site…. Someone go ahead and post that.
Count me in as another person who is sick of all the losers and whiners saying “JUST WAIT THIS IS THE YEAR” “JUST WAIT THIS IS THE TIME” TO WILL MESS EVERYTHING UP!!!!
Every single team in the NFL would love to have TO on their roster including the Eagles. they know bow that their problem was Baby Donovan. They would love to habe him back they just can’t admit it.
I have also noticed this site pandering to Cowboy haters. Its obvious to regular readers.

This post is filled with some of the most ignorant statements I have ever read… For you TO minded people I am using ignorant as stupid…
Honestly, I am a Philly fan but I did not want TO here in the first place… I NEVER liked him… So you can stuff those comments up your arses… Second, To won what for the Eagles? NOTHING! McNabb got them through the playoffs because TO was rubbing his vag… TO came out in the Super Bowl ONLY and I mean ONLY to say he won the game…So when they lost he blamed everyone but himself… They should have played without him, would have probably won… Someone said it best, TO plays for himself and himself only…
This is all a stunt… and the onyl people blind to this are cowboy fans…

Hey Brewdog21,
The cowboys may not have won a SB since Clinton was in office, but the Eagles have never won a superbowl PERIOD. You freakin’ babies. When your beloved #5 had the chance, he blew his mommy’s chunky soup on the field.

spoonman, not from Philly here, so nice try, but I couldn’t care less about any of the teams in the NFC East. That just goes to show how much delusional ‘Boys fans are. The Cowboys aren’t classy just because it’s posted on message board and TO isn’t a model teammate because Vox found a handful of quotes over the years. Step back and take an honest assessment, dudes.

the 2004 season was a beautiful thing here in philly and i’ll admit that i wish we still had owens. he’s a headcase but who the heck cares? mcnabb certainly has his issues as well. what we eagles fans are truly pissed about is the “what could have been.” suffice it to say banner and owens both screwed the pooch for us. couple that with owens putting up similar number is dallas only drives the knife deeper.

“McNabb got them through the playoffs because TO was rubbing his vag… ”
You’re just hating now, especially considering that McNabb keeps kegs of Vagisil and Milk of Magnesia on tap.
“They should have played without him, would have probably won…”
Ha. As if McNabb wasn’t going to choke on his own vomit in the huddle whether TO was there or not.

“Hey Vox, I dont see any QB on that list.”
You don’t have to. QBs aren’t the only teammates a player has.
“Yea, because they have nothing good to say about OD. ”
You kidding? Plenty of QBs have had plenty of good stuff to say about TO. Some have even said that he’s a good teammate.
“If TO is thinking that people think he’s selfish, he’s listening to 5 percent of the people out there.” - Steve Young
“T.O. is a pretty good teammate” - Tony Romo
How many guys can you find that say he’s not a good teammate?

The point is that we, as fans, can’t make honest assessments because we dopn’t have even the bare minimum of the required info. We’ve never been anybody’s teammate, not in the NFL anyway. We don’t know what goes on in the locker room, or in their personal lives. We only know what we read, hear and see, which is just a tiny fraction of the dynamic that makes up a team and the interpersonal relationships that exist within the team. The vast majority of TO’s actual teammates that have cared to comment on the subject have characterized him as a good teammate. Is that true? Who knows? I have a hard time coming up with reasons that a guy might want to lie about it though.

OK, I wasn’t really going to dignify Vox’s rants with a response. But, in all honesty, are you like 13 years old? I’m not trying to be an ass, I just want to make sure we’re not attacking a defenseless kid.
