Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens praises his quarterback, says he isn’t worried about his contract and talks about his willingness to share the ball with other receivers in an interview with Albert Breer of the Dallas Morning News.
Asked about his tearful defense of Tony Romo after the Cowboys’ playoff loss to the Giants, Owens said he has no regrets because he has so much respect for his quarterback.
“As a friend and as a person, outside being a football player, I know who Tony is,” Owens said. “Outside what I see in him as a football player, I thought they were attacking my friend, more than going after a football player. So the most natural thing for me, because I feel like he’s a brother to me, is to try to protect him. That was just the most natural thing and if I got put in that situation again, I’d probably do the same thing.”
Owens was also asked about the possibility that the Cowboys could add another star wide receiver, such as the Lions’ Roy Williams, the Cardinals Anquan Boldin or the Bengals’ Chad Johnson. And although there have been suggestions that Owens might object to sharing the featured role with one of those stars, he says he would be fine with it — just as he’s fine having more balls thrown to Terry Glenn this year, if Glenn is healthy again.
“If it’s Terry, or if it’s Roy or Anquan or Chad, I would welcome them,” Owens said. “I just want to win.”
As for his contract, the issue that led to Owens’ departure from Philadelphia, he says he’s not worried about it, even though he’s heading into the final year on his current deal.
“There was a situation where the contract didn’t work out in Philly,” Owens said. “With this, I’m going to let it play out and not try to be a distraction. I’ll let it take care of itself. I’m a firm believer that things will work out for the best.”
And with that, a lot of people in Philadelphia must be wondering, “Where was this guy three years ago?”

This not a surprise to me at all. TO was and is about himself. He is now 34 and he like all players wants to win a ring. TO has figured out for himself that he can’t win by himself. He needs a team and he knows that Dallas has the talent to win. He also knows NOW that attitude is just, if not more, important to win. He is getting football old. TO wants a ring to validate HIS career not to mention HIS ego. He can behave NOW before his body makes him retire. He will always be a puke; has anyone seen a clip of his latest acting gig?

No, he’s only doing this because he’s in a contract year.

Yeah T.O. is the ideal teammate now, but as soon as word comes about them not giving him a new contract he’ll be everywhere talking about Homo-Romo dildo-ing Jerry Jones while Wade Phillips video taped.

If he doesn’t get a new contract at age 34, the only logical place for him to come is TAMPA.

What the hell has Tony Romo done? Uh, remember it was McNabb that led the eagles to the superbowl. Until Romo wins a playoff game then you talk about he didn’t have a quarterback. And Garcia was better in San Fran than Romo is now. He is so overrated and he gets exposed everytime he plays a good team.

First of all, I am not shocked most of the readers on this site are haters and are butt-hurt that TO isnt acting like this on their team. One reason, CLASS. The Dallas Cowboys are the classiest organization in the NFL and it clearly shows that when a trouble players like TO, Terry Glenn, Keyshawn, Tank, PacMan, and more can come to Dallas and change their careers around, it shows that the organization has what it takes to cater to their players like more teams in this league should (Philly, SF). TO has finally found somewhere that appreciates his like he should be and all you people out there are making fun of him and plain out HATING. Everyone thought signing him would backfire and it hasnt. Expect the worst, its not gonna slow us down.

haha lookit all the jealousy! It’s simple guys. Pay him what he’s worth on a straight-up contract and treat him like a man. The Eagles couldn’t be bothered to do either so he tore McNabb’s psyche a new doody hole.

Breer’s a Pats homer and a Mendenhall lover, by the way. How he got stuck on a Cowboys blog is anybody’s guess but he can hardly make a post without mentioning the Pats or Mendenhall.

Could it possibly be that Jerry and Wade are simply better at handling their business matters better than Banner and Reid. I think so. Jerry Jones has a history of having success with other peoples headaches. And Andy Reid can’t deal with any players or the press. Just watch his press conferences… “eh hem, cough cough; We have to get better next week.” What a joke.

Dude, I have to believe that you’re simply high from all the methane gas coming off all those cowpies in Texas. Tony Homo couldn’t carry Big 5’s (or Garcia’s) jock! What has he won? Wasn’t Dallas the number 1 seed last year? That 1 should stand for one and done. You should be ashamed of yourself.
