The Chicago Bears have done little to address the receiver position and even less to address the mess at quarterback.
But, hey, they have a kicker. They definitely have a kicker.
The Bears announced on Monday that Robbie Gould have been signed to a five-year extension, putting him under contract through 2013. Not bad for a guy who entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2005.
And so the Bears have the kicking position under control for years into the future.
Of course, they thought the same thing earlier this decade with Paul Edinger, until the guy with the matador stance started kicking like a bull’s horn was buried in his butt.

Maybe the plan is to have a good kicker, and a solid defense to compliment an anemic offense. The goal is to win every game 3-0.

HA, I just had a flashback to the SNL ‘NFL Kickers’ spoof of the Bears’ Super Bowl Shuffle. Man, that was classic!!

Jerry Angelo knows that Kyle Orton to Brandon Lloyd will be unbeatable. Lets just give them the Lombardi trophy now.

“Jerry Angelo knows that Kyle Orton to Brandon Lloyd will be unbeatable. ”
The only unbeatable combination would be if the Bears sign a WR named Jack Daniels.

Now I have another five years of mispronouncing Gould as ‘Gooold’, rather than ‘Gold’.

Let see, Hester has a great return every time he touches the ball, and worst case, gets them into fieldgoal position.Thats where Gould comes in. Heck, we don’t even need an offense, just play defense and special teams and they’ll go 16-0.

The Bears are in the NFC North the division that is to good quarterbacks what Wisconsin is to skinny people. The really frightening thing is that Kyle Orton might seriously be the best QB in the division. Hilarious.

So the bears have locked-up the only point scoring play-maker on their team.
Way to go…Da-bears.

enough of the qb bashing of the bears! did it ever occur to you people that the problem not only lies in the qb play but the type of offebse run by the team?you have heard of prevent defenses well the bears run a prevent offense!if they had brady or manning running the offense it stll would be the same,ok that play worked so let’s not use it again. they will stick to thier plan no matter what is happening in the game and then when they are losing by 2 td’s expect grossman to wing it down field and win the game.you think defenses don’t have that figured out and are not expecting it?when they went to the superbowl grossman played lights out the first 5 weeks then people caught up with them and they never made adj. just had him throwing downfield into coverage.it was the same way in the superbowl, jones runs for 50yd. td then is taken out the next series so benson can get hurt and fumble, yea great play calling guys but we have grossman to blame everything on.

How can people expect Gould to kick field goals if the offense can’t even put him in position to do it? Hopefully Devin Hester can.

Rampant rumors suggest that white powder up his nose (rather than a bulls horn (or even a bullhorn) up his butt was the diagnosis for Edinger’s erratic…kicking.

cygnus x-1,
Problems with an offense invariably get blamed on the QB. It’s a fact of life.
