Titans kicker Rob Bironas, a restricted free agent, has signed his one-year tender and will remain with the team.
For at least one more season.
Bironas will earn $1.47 million, which is a lot of money for any kicker to make. He’ll be eligible for unrestricted free agency in 2009.
He set the record for field goals in a game, nailing eight of them in a 2007 thriller against the Texans. In 2006, Bironas nailed a 60-yard field goal to topple the Colts.

With all due respect to Bironas, any game that involves the Texans and a team kicking 8 field goals to win cannot be called a thriller.

No, that Texans/Titans game was actually pretty entertaining and I remember the bar I was at flat out exploding when Bironas hit that 60 yarder to beat the Dolts.

Just goes to show the weird market for kickers. Unless you play for a loyal team, or are good for at least two or three years in a row, there is no guarantee that you will have a job. Just ask Mike Vanderdjat(sp?).
