They can't sign everyone, though they will have a better chance of signing most of the people if they try to re-sign them long before there contract is up. They can't wait until a contract year to attempt to sign these people. The price will be much higher then. They need to re-sign those players that are the hardest positions to replace and then if they have any money left, then re-sign those position players that are most in need. If they can't sign them all, then I hope they at least trade the ones they can't sign. Compensatory picks are fine, but that is not enough compensation for stars at any given position.
