Earlier this week, we noted that Philadelphia sports reporter Keith Russell claimed on WQAM radio in Miami that the guy who was shot by someone with Marvin Harrison’s gun was trying to carry out a hit on Harrison.
The Philadelphia Daily News reported on Thursday that a spokesman for 6ABC in Philly, the station for which Russell works, declined comment on the matter, but also said that the station is “looking into” the matter.
We were told in the wake of Russell’s comments that the allegation of a hit gone haywire are baseless. To our knowledge, Russell has not repeated his contentions since his appearance on the Jason Jackson show on WQAM.

The fact that the station has not run the story again or even elaborated on it should be enough to tell you it’s a bunch of crap.

It’s hard to do something worthy of a hit when you’ve been dead for over 30 years. Harrison’s father died when Marvin was 2 (at least, according to an article by the Sporting News from 1999 : http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1208/is_50_223/ai_58360899/pg_4 ). Although, they actually do the unthinkable thing and name their sources — Marvin and Linda Harrison. I guess they couldn’t find any unnamed sources, so had to settle for this.

Wait - I don’t get it this guy is from Miami - on a Miami radio station. and this happened in Philly. This guy is just trying to get publicity.

maybe i watch too much tv, but it seems to me if a real hit were going on, the guy would show up and just do it. i don’t think he’d show up and get in an argument first and get thrown out.
