The Lions front office wants to negotiate a deal. They want Roy long term, IMO. The problem with extending Roy's deal NOW is the teams salary cap situation. They will have a good amount of dead cap space comming after this season, and presumably will try to lock him up then. If they can't, he'll be franchised. Either way...
