Isn’t it a shame that the negative happenings with players get an entire post and front page coverage, while the great things players such as Dunn accomplish only get One-liners and small blurbs on page 8 of the fish wrap?
So how about you guys start an anti-turd watch? Something that tracks and assigns points to teams for great contributions to the community. I know to some it is not as exciting, but maybe we can attempt to focus on some of the positive actions made by the players and other members of the organization. Just a thought.

Whoa, SteelerDave makes good points. It is a shame that Marvin Harrison gets like 10 posts of each development in his case but Warrick Dunn only gets a one-liner. There should be an anti-turd watch. It would be more positive. Maybe not as exciting but it’d be more positive. Should promote positive attitudes like Dunn and Antoine Cason who was huge in community work during college.

I would not be surprised to see O’Connell #2 on the depth chart this year even though Goo (Guitierrez sp?) has done a good job. Cassel is done. He looks like a deer in the headlights every time he steps on the field.
McDaniels is going to take over for Big Bill when moves into the front office.
Pats are gonna rule the AFC East & the NFL for a long time.

Mike Tomlin should just leave the defensive strategy to Dick LeBeau… I mean this guy has linebackers rushing the grocery clerks at the supermarket chains, the OLB is rushingthe valet at the restaurants, The MLB is streaming through the toll booth… I don’t think the Pittsburgh Steelers will need to publicize Blitzing the QB any more… Do you? Is it me or must it just be a slow news day in Pittsburgh… Go Penguins in the battle royale for Pennsylvannia!

Nice idea, but I think the only “Anti-Turd Watch” items would be the usual puff pieces about players visiting hospitals and such. Sad to say, but guys like Pacman and Marvin (allegedly, maybe, but not at this time) sell newspapers - and internet blogs.

Steeler Dave, Lee C. you guys got it right. Let’s hear, read more about the good guys. How about Joe Andruzzi? Reading about how the guy is in total remission from cancer and find out how he and his wife have raised over $ 1/2 million for local hospitals prior to his becoming ill. These are the athletes that should be getting noticed.

Hey Florio … With all the negative crap going on in the NFL (as if there is a positive kind of crap), do you think you devote a little more space to the Warrick Dunn story than one freaking line!!!
If you ask me, the guy belongs in the Hall of Fame for what he has done for the community over his career.
How about a piece devoted to his accomplishments instead of another story about an NFL player getting arrested?

We need more Warrick Dunn stories. I come here to get away from reading about thugs and n’er do wells on the front page.
Maybe we can help Mike by sending him the links to the positive events involving athletes. Maybe lawyers spend too much time dumpster diving.

Guys… it’s been three years. The Pats don’t rule the NFL now for winning three Super Bowls years ago any more than the Cowboys rule now for winning five Super Bowls years ago.
