To the Ravens organization:
Please don't make Ray mad. For the love of God, don't make him angry! You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

Ray REALLY doesn't fit in a one-gap 3-4 like Dallas has. He'd be eaten for breakfast behind the Dallas tackles and ends, especially against the monstrous NFC East offensive lines. This is the same reason I predict Zach Thomas won't be very successful this year.

Ray Ray does his best behind big two-gappers like Gregg and Ngata now and Adams and Siragusa in the past. He's probably best off staying in Baltimore.

The Ravens need to watch out. Ray Ray is not shy about sticking a knife in their back. He has already trained for that day that he has to backstab the Ravens and go to Cleveland or the Steelers.

Ray is way past his prime and prone to injuries. Only a twice baked Italian cookie would threaten to top any offer on the open market.

Considering all of the up and coming talent in the league and the need for fast MLBs, I don't know just how much Ray expects to get paid.

I doubt the Pats would touch him without the same kind of incentive-laden deal you're talking about. Ray is a guy who wants the linemen to do the dirty work for him so he can run free. The Patriots linebackers have to take on O-linemen.

Loved ya while you were a Raven Ray-Ray. You are the best LB I have ever seen, but there is no way I would break the bank for you at age 33. One of the hardest tasks for a team is not to overpay their own players who have outlived the best of their career. And while Ray is still in the top 5 in MLB's in the NFL, he is without a doubt in the November of his career. If he were interested in a 2 year deal with a whole lot of incentives based on PT, then I would resign him. Otherwise let him go to the Cowgirls or the Pats or wherever someone is willing to fork out too much money to sign him. For Ray it is all about the money. He got the largest signing bonus in the NFL a few years ago and within 2 years was coming back for more. He says its about respect, but the truth is that it is just about the money. Ray wants to be paid for past performance and in the NFL it just doesn't work like that anymore, that is if you want your team to stay competitive consistently.

The Ravens would be wise to simply let this year play out without giving Ray a new contract. If he ends his career as a Raven, great. If not, "Next Man Up". The team has made big mistakes in the past dishing out contracts that were too large for players who were too old. They keep saying they've learned from their mistakes and will not keep repeating the same mistakes from here on out. The decision to NOT give Ray Lewis a big contract now seems to be evidence that they mean business. Believe it or not, the Ravens will continue to excel on defense with or without Ray Lewis. If he wants to stay a Raven, let him show it. If not, not.

This really kills me (pun intended):"...has experienced more wear and tear than a bunk bed in a brothel."
Ray (and the other vets) may also have hissies because the new administration is going to make him leave his Sparks home and come out here to Westminster to work with the scrubs this coming July.
