Garrett Reid, the son of Eagles coach Andy Reid, reportedly will enter a guilty plea on drug smuggling charges.
Garrett Reid smuggled 89 pills into jail last November. The pills were found while Garrett Reid was awaiting sentencing on other charges.
So how did he do the smuggling? Well, let’s just say we hope that the guy who was able to produce an endless stream of McDonald’s hamburgers during The Longest Yard employed a different method.

Don’t be one of those guys who only wants to grab headlines. I’m hoping you’re better than that! Andy Reid’s kids no matter what age are not newsworthy in my opinion.
This should remain private/behind the scenes and doesn’t have a place in sports.
I saw the full interview with Andy Reid where the media jumped on him for being “snippy”. No one mentioned that prior to him making his “snippy” remark about the media that a reporter had asked him how last season and this season were different…you know the problems with your sons etc…
I don’t think it’s the right thing to do whether you lump other topics in with his sons problems.

When the coach takes a leave of absense, it becomes our business. Everyone would be up in arms if a story read, “Andy Reid takes leave, that’s it. No reason why.”
As football fans, we want to know why he took a leave. And now this is just a follow up story on something everyone was aware of already.

I’m torn on whether this is part of sports news I would want to read. On a blog site such as this I think it’s fine but I don’t think it’s appropriate on a sports new site such as ESPN. Blog sites are sort of stream of consciousness so pretty much anything is fair game but to me it’s not sports news and shouldn’t be reported (on ESPN) as such.
I do agree with the sentiment that the good stuff such as what Warrick Dunn does should be reported — on here as elsewhere — almost as much as the bad stuff, the only thing is that the bad stuff is usually weirder and in that way sometimes more interesting.

I come to this site to find out about the latest football news, not stuff that is none of my buisness. Not to mention, I don’t even really care. I am sure this is hard on Mr. & Mrs. Reid. I mean… who wants their child to be like this? I wish them the best.
