On Tuesday, there were different opinions as to whether Seahawks receiver Bobby Engram is boycotting voluntary workouts because the 35-year-old receiver wants more money and/or years on a contract that expires after the 2008 season.

If there was any real doubt about Engram’s status, he shared his views with the team on Tuesday, by leaving a handwritten note for coach Mike Holmgren.

“I kind of enjoy that,” Holmgren said.  “It means he graduated from college and he can type.”

Holmgren was kidding.  (We know this because when he’s serious, he usually curses.  A lot.)

“He’s been so good for us and he is an emotional player and the business side of this gets emotional at times,” Holmgren added, regarding Engram.  “I’ve had other players do that before on the nonmandatory days.  In that respect, that’s the one thing they can do, at least perceive they can do.”

Engram is due to earn a base salary of $1.7 million in 2008.
