The blurb we posted on Tuesday regarding the fact that an unnamed team is interested in former Bengals receiver Chris Henry sparked a flurry of comments from folks guessing which renegade-happy team would be willing to take a crack at the talented-but-troubled wideout.
If you had Tampa Bay in the pool, you lost. Our friends at Pewter Report say that the Bucs aren’t interested in Henry.
Previously, the Buccaneers have shown a willingness to welcome guys who know how to play football but not quite how to behave. Last year, the Bucs’ decision to sign tight end Jerramy Stevens suggested to us that there’s no player on whom they’d pass due to his off-field issues.
As to Henry, the decision might have had nothing to do with his history of arrests. It could simply be that they have 14 receivers, and that they don’t need any more at the present time.
Now, if Henry played quarterback, it might be a different story.

it’s still self serving. Jeff Garcia can’t throw the deep ball and that’s Henry’s real value, the deep routes.

Andy Reid doesn’t need another guy with multiple arrests in his life. He already has two son’s with a drug record that would even make an NBA fan jelous.

unfortunately for bucs fans he could probably make a significant impact on your team (if he stayed out of jail/court) which will linger as a possibility in your front office until he is signed or suspended (ya’ll should hope for the latter).

Of course it wasn’t TB. They’re too busy looking for an 8th QB to add to the roster.

Anyone signing this guy needs their head examined. I am all for second chances but this guy has been arrested numerous times. Philadelphia should stay away and instead focus on guys like Roy Williams or Anquan Boldin

Would love to see him in Miami… Tuna takes him out to Prime 112, then a chaperoned taste of South Beach with the Sgt of the Miami Beach P.D., then a non scripted trip to Cheetah’s with the Commissioner of the hallandale P.D… By meeting with each Police Commissioner amd pre-registering him in case he makes an unexpected stop to the ‘Blue Palaces.’ By contract signing time I would then bring in the hired muscle of H. Wayne Huizenga’s lieutenants to scare the living beejebah’s out of him. Now being Focused I’d put Henry in a lineup (he’s already familiar with it) where Chad Henne, John Beck, Bob Griese, Dan Marino can just throw footballs at him so that he’s too tired to go outside of the training complex… A receiver focused on football. Now we’re talking!

It was the Panthers all along. Steve Smith publicly trashed Dwayne Jarrett, so that gives you an idea of how bad their receiving core is, and they didn’t even take a flyer on a late round WR. Fox is being fitted for a kerosene jacket for his stroll through hell if the Panthers don’t win this year. Nobody doubts Henry’s talent, and Fox doesn’t have anything to lose by signing Henry.

Even though Henry is a thug, lowlife, pedofile, loser, idiot, dopehead, and the bona fide NFL poster boy. There is no way Reid signs him and here are the reason’s why:
1. Reggie (I lovemy press clippings from two years ago)Brown
2. Kevin (I’m only really open during routs)Curtis
3. Greg (Last year i caught5, few more and i’ll have a shrimp cocktail) Lewis
4.Draftee DeSean (Alvin and the Chipmunks stand-in) Jackson
5.Jason (Can you believe I’m still in the NFL) Avant
6.Hank (I show up at Training Camp) Baskett
7.Michael (Who the hell am I) Gasperson
So, you see it has nothing to do with Henry’s past, Andy (I invented football) Reid is happy with his receiving corps.Aww hell..Just give the ball to Westbrook is written at the bottom of every page of the playbook…Times Your’s
