We were alerted last night to some eye-popping claims regarding the Marvin Harrison case made by Philly sports anchor Keith Russell during a Monday afternoon radio spot in Miami. And so we tracked down the audio, and we have given it a listen.
Appearing with Jason Jackson on WQAM, Russell said that his sources tell him that the guy who was allegedly shot in the hand after leaving Harrison’s bar last Tuesday had come to the establishment to carry out a gangland-style “hit.”
A “hit” on Harrison.
Seriously.
Russell said during the segment that the issue relates to Harrison’s father, who is (per Russell) incarcerated, and that the supposed “hit” was in retaliation for something Harrison’s father supposedly had done.
Media sources in Philadelphia tell us that the contention, which Russell apparently hasn’t made on the air in his home market, is simply not true.
Russell also said that there are “people who are willing to do whatever is necessary” to keep Harrison from facing charges.

Marvin is one dumb dumb. He has no reason to be dealing with any people that are causing trouble in his bar. He’s got security at the bar, he has personal security as well. The problem here is that he lost his mind and went after this guy. He got so mad that he grabbed his gun and starting firing outside.
When anyone, and I mean ANYONE, fires a gun then and tries to hide the gun. YOU ARE GUILTY. Innocent people call the cops and/or let the cops deal with it. Which brings up another point. If the guy was such a problem, why didn’t Marvin call the cops and have him removed?
The fool WILL BE GOING TO JAIL.
p.s. to Passionate fan - who spoke of the two worlds…
you seem to justify peoples living in crime and poverty as though they had no choice. YES they had a choice. They went to school…free public schools and had the opportunity to excel and move forward. They chose that lifestyle. A lifestyle of drugs, guns and thugs. I’ll never feel sorry for people that live in that lifestyle then complain about it.
Yea, there are two worlds - one where people work hard to make a living, support their families, stay away from crime and help others.
Then the other where people strive for crime, hate, drugs, guns and a thug lifestyle.
Either way everyone makes their choice of where they are to live. Nothing is given, it has to be earned.
Marvin with all his cash and all his knowledge was freaking dumb to be involved. Now with the info that he tried to get rid of the gun at his own car was…it’ll be the cops and the DA who’ll be cleaning him.
I guess he’ll get to see his dad again.

Put your gangster/GTA shoes on for a minute and pretend you’re supposed to walk into a bar and shoot some guy. Knowing you’re walking into a gunfight, possibly outnumbered, but with the element of surprise on your side, wouldn’t you get your gun ready before you walk in the door? Wouldn’t you walk in guns blazing? As soon as you enter the bar, your target starts firing at you with a large caliber pistol, missing four times and hitting your hand. Wouldn’t you return fire?
Although the attacker has the element of surprise, his target fires 5 shots without his attacker returning fire.
I think the other piece of info is much more relevant: some people are willing to do anything to keep Harrison from facing charges. This story was contrived by Harrison’s protectors, to allow him claim self defense. Even the victim/”attacker” might collaborate this story in exchange for an undisclosed cash settlement. The reason the victims won’t come forward has more to do with money than fear of retaliation. Harrison has a history of paying for stories to go away, and this is no exception.
The victim has two options:
1) Collaborate with the investigation, send an NFL star to prison, fear retaliation and get a bad rep.
2) Squeeze millions of dollars out of Harrison and the Colts in exchange for keeping quiet. Live a life of luxury, street cred and respect as a worldclass hustler.

Matt
- great research. certainly justifies the b.s. label on the hit story.
Facts Domino
- fact: ballastics tests show that it was Harrison’s gun.
- fact: Harrison has said that he didn’t fire any gun.
- fact: In Pennsylvania, the owner of a weapon involved in a shooting can be charged in the crime. If police legally determine the handgun belongs to Harrison, he could be charged with at least a misdemeanor.
safe conclusion: Harrison cannot claim “self defense”
safe conclusion: Harriosn will most likely be charged with at least a misdemeanor.

Like I said before, few if any facts have been released by the police and again the majority of the “information” was released by the WIP announcer looking for his 15 minutes of fame and I still believe, that if half of the “information”, were true, Harrison would be detained, or arrested at this point.

Two America’s, Topher?? Nope, there’s just one, always has been always will be: Ignorant people with guns and the rest of us trying to steer clear. Take your b.s. social commentary somewhere else.
My biggest problem with this story, other than the bucket, is how can Marvin fire six or seven rounds of a FN 50 cal and NOT KILL A MF? That’s the worst shooting I’ve ever heard of. People get killed with 9mm guns every day. And he can’t kill anyone with a 50? He should be ashamed.
I love this story.

Let me be the first person to pre-eminently nominate Marvin Harrison (when/if, but more likely when, he is found guilty) for the 2008 Turd of the Year Award! I know the voting & ceremonies are over a half year away but anyone who would fire armour-piercing, semi-automatic rounds, wildly & inaccurately (possibly b/c he was doing so drunk, i mean he was at a bar, that he owned, free drinks), in a heavily populated urban area deserves to be thrown away and have his sixty-six million dollar contract torn up & burnt to a crisp.
Baxter- are you some sort of future-telling svant, b/c you’re on the money, or at least you know where its going. The ‘victim’ makes out like a banshee as long as he “couldn’t tell” who shot at him, accidentally barely hitting him once.

We can argue the “facts” all day long…here is the heart of the situation…Marvin is guilty of bad judgement and this all could’ve been avoided if he had a BODYGUARD instead of a gun.

Not at all. I am saying there are two worlds. That is a fact no matter how badly mainstreamers want to deny it. I’ve lived there. There are always choices.
But there are choices and then there are choices…
Give me your wallet or I’ll shoot you. You have a choice. But its not really a choice, is it?

Did anyone call out this tool Russell on the fact that Marvin Harrison’s father has been DEAD for 33 years? Throw in that little bit of information, and the rest of his already-shaky “claims” have even less validity.
Who are this idiot’s sources? Miss Cleo and John Edward?

Did I miss a memo? Show me one report that says Marvin did this. While you are at it, show me one report that says it was his gun that was used in this crime. I’m not even a Colts fan and some of the comments on here are starting to bother me. Do you people really think that when the police went to question him they didn’t test his hands for gun shot residue? C’mon, people. This is America. You are innocent until proven guilty and Marvin Harrison has not been convicted of anything that I know of. He hasn’t even been arrested. Come to think of it, the police haven’t even decided if he’s a suspect yet.
