A reader has passed along to us the following gem from former Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith, regarding the challenges presented by players like Pacman Jones, who’ll be a Cowboy if/when he’s reinstated by Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Says Emmitt: “You can be with the guy and in his ear 24 hours a day, but at the end of the day you can’t be there the whole time.”

At this point, ESPN is just using this guy as a “freak show” exhibit. His friends and family need to do an “intervention” and let this guy know he’s making an ass of himself. What’s so painful is that this guy was such an amazing competitor on the field. Now, instead of being remembered for getting the Cowboys into the playoffs by beating the Giants, essentially by himself, while he was hurt, he’ll be remembered as a jackass that didn’t know when to shut up. Sad.

hey downsouth49er if u reeeeally think that people dont know what he’s saying (although sometimes he does literally boarder on incomprehensible) then you’re an even bigger idiot than you claim everyone else to be.
unless your a relative or lover of his I’d suggest choosing someone or something else to “go to bat for” b/c you come off as a huge ***** who probably got teased a lot in school. just b/c emit “your-foot-from-your-mouf” smith can’t defend himself intelligently b/c people like you are telling him “your doing fine, you sound fine, there’s nothing terribly wrong w/anything your saying” doesn’t mean you should out of pity/self-loathing.

at the end of the day, he still has more money than any of you pricks on this site will ever have, lmao….and he will always be far remembered as the great NFL running back than he would be for his few crazy comments…the only one still making fun of it is the simple-minded fans of this site and the idiotic Florio…yeah it was funny at first but it’s really old now…even the funniest jokes get old, get over it and quit using his mishaps as an attempt to make your pathetic lives look that much better..because it really isn’t

Ha Ha, Vox Veritas is right on with all of his post and proved my point!! You guys aren’t as bright and only laugh at Emmitt to cover up what you are lacking. Even Florio and his staff of “College Graduates” have errors throughout the whole page on a consistent basis. Yet those “MISTAKES” are over looked for Emmitt’s “MISTAKES”.
