Former Bengals receiver Chris Henry is drawing the interest of a yet-unnamed NFL team.
Henry’s lawyer made that claim on Tuesday in order to obtain for Henry permission to travel out of the area for the purposes of visiting with said team. Henry is on house arrest in the wake of a recent assault charge, and the judge assigned to the case previously had denied a request that Henry be allowed to leave the area in the hopes of landing a new football gig.
“We’re willing to give him some latitude given the fact that he obviously needs to find some employment,” Judge Richard Bernat said.
Henry must produce a letter from an NFL team in order to utilize the permission to shed his digital jewelry and leave town.
So what team is interested in Henry? PFT Planet, drop your thoughts in the comments section. (As if you need an invitation to do so.)

Andy Reid would like to extend a 5th round pick and Lito Sheppard for Henry and his PO…
FYI, the Eagles would never een consider this guy because of his history… They do not take chances on character issue players (I call it To-Syndrom…
I would say the Vikings, Raiders (probably get a 60mil in guaranteed money there) or the bucs, that is if he is willing to play quarterback…

My guess would be the Cowboys. The way they’re going, their team photo will be from the front and the side.

He’s not going anywhere if Goodell is a man of integrity and his word.
“I must emphasize to you that this is your last opportunity to salvage your NFL career,” Commissioner Goodell wrote to Jones and Henry. “I urge you to take full advantage of the resources available to support you in that effort.”
Interest of other teams is probably just a ploy by his attorney to get him out of jail. I’m sure he is doing better handling the bar of soap than he did the clutch passes last year.

There is NO WAY the Vikings will take him.
Jared Allen changed his lifestyle. Koren Robinson had the same and the Vikings cut him when he got a DUI.
Minnesotans would revolt, because they are trying to clean house. Childress values high character guys.

To all of you whiny cowgirl fans out there, it’s not that we don’t know stats, we just have fun bashing a team that aids and abbeds criminals. I’m a philly fan and would love the talent, but I would love to see him go to the boyz just to screw up again. GO BIRDS!!

Are Cowboys fans really defending the signing of Pacman? He was centrally involved in the shooting of a man that left him paralyzed. Did I mention it happened at a strip club? You’re right I’m sorry, they don’t sign thugs.

Dallas, because Jerry Jones wants his cowpokes to have enough criminals to get his team a role in the next remake of The Longest Yard.

I think all the Dallas fans need to calm down. There’s some slight bashing going on, but I think it’s completely fair to assume that Jerry Jones would possibly be interested, as he’s known to be looking for a 3rd (and possibly backup 2nd) receiver. Chad Johnson, although probably of his own creation, perpetuated the Cincy to Dallas trade early in his trade requests. As a receiver who can stretch the field very much like Johnson (Jerry like) but has a lower cap number, Henry would be a viable candidate, assuming he was available to play (Commish??)
And for the Eagles fan who shunned Cincy’s 3rd receiver, obviously you’re blind to the amount of depth and talent that Cincy has had in it’s receiving corps. Look at most of Henry’s TD catches, and show me an Eagles receiver since your good friend T.O. that could stretch the field like that.
Someone also mentioned Jerry Jones getting Henry while the Bengals get no compensation: no (expletiving expletive)!!, the Bengals CUT the turd, so he’s there for anyone who wants to get their hands dirty in the toilet FOR NO COMPENSATION.
Yeah, I read way too many comments.

it IS the cowboys…pacman and he are best friends, played together at WVU and he is a stellar talent…he’s an idiot but i honestly believe that he had/has the ability to have been the best WR on the bengals…that being said, i wish the eagles would take a chance on him…all he does is catch TD’s…

Grulks,
A little defensive, eh?
The reason so many people have offered up Dallas as a potential destination is that JJ has just traded for King Turd himself…Pacman Jones.
If you ask yourself, “Who would sign a turd if he could make their team better?” Reply, “Hummm…Dallas would sign a turd to make their team better. Heck, they just did!”
No one is trying to be funny or jump on a bandwagon.

Wow jgrange, you really hurt my feelings. A crybaby huh? Does this mean we aren’t friends now?
Why don’t you get your story straight, and stop twisting people’s words.
Where did I ever say I was glad that Pacman or Tank were on the team? Check the comments postings on the rumor Dallas was about to sign him. I stated several times I was against it. Same with Tank.
I never said that Dallas doesnt sign criminals (They did. They signed Tank Johnson, who has been trouble free ever since), I said the team wasn’t comprised fully of them, and that I was sick of everyone saying things like “Dallas will sign anyone” and “Dallas is full of convicts”. Neither of those types of statements are true. If you argue otherwise, you are either delusional, or a f*cking idiot, and I’m not gonna waste anymore time engaging you in pointless debate otherwise.
Mud Hens, I’m just sick of people being idiots. Everyone knew that Pacman was a potential destination for Dallas. This was never a secret.
However the Chris Henry situation is very different. There have been multiple articles, after Henry was cut, where reporters have asked Jones if Henry was a potential pickup for Dallas. In each case he’s stated “I’m not interested, he isn’t the right fit for this team”
So essentially, people with no idea have just started saying “The Dallas cowboys are a bunch of thugs/gangsters/murderers/a-holes/, Jerry Jones must want him”.
Dallas has ONE player with a recent conviction (I haven’t gone back beyond three years) on its active roster. How does this make Dallas a bunch of Thugs and Convicts??
It’s not about being defensive, it’s about being annoyed at how stupid people can be. I don’t get bothered by people hating on the Cowboys, or for bashing them over something valid (ahem, lack of any playoff wins in over a decade), but when a bunch of people keep erroneously saying negative things that aren’t true, about something I care about, it gets annoying.
Especially since I use this site as a break from work….so great, something I use to sidetrack me from the annoyances from work, has now become annoying…..;)

Grulks - 13 players to Pro Bowl = ZERO playoff wins. Why the hell would any of us be JEALOUS of a team that has not won a playoff game since 1996? I’ll take the Giants, thanks. 1 Pro Bowl player = Super Bowl Champions. I like that math A LOT better.

The Raiders don’t really have any players on their roster that are serious criminals or ones that are on the level of Tank Johnson, Pacman, or Chris Henry yet their reputation still has them in talks of signing this guy.
It’s the same way with the Cowboys. Quit crying. Why don’t you actually do your job instead of wasting time on the internet? You’re costing your company millions in lost productivity.
Every decade there’s a new Cowboy either selling or doing drugs, namely cocaine, so yeah, the reputation is deserving. They may have never been busted but that’s still criminal activity.
