Former Bengals receiver Chris Henry is drawing the interest of a yet-unnamed NFL team.
Henry’s lawyer made that claim on Tuesday in order to obtain for Henry permission to travel out of the area for the purposes of visiting with said team. Henry is on house arrest in the wake of a recent assault charge, and the judge assigned to the case previously had denied a request that Henry be allowed to leave the area in the hopes of landing a new football gig.
“We’re willing to give him some latitude given the fact that he obviously needs to find some employment,” Judge Richard Bernat said.
Henry must produce a letter from an NFL team in order to utilize the permission to shed his digital jewelry and leave town.
So what team is interested in Henry? PFT Planet, drop your thoughts in the comments section. (As if you need an invitation to do so.)

I was joking when I said Eagles. He doesn’t really seem like an Andy Reid kind of signing.

I really doubt the Eagles are going to persue a player who needs a judge to grant access to leave the state

No way the Eagles take a scoop of poo like him. If he’s going anywhere it’s Dallas or Oakland.

It will not be Dallas following the trade for Pacman Jones. Jerry Jones has already stated that he’s not interested. By the way, you’ll notice that Dallas (actually most of the NFC East) has been remarkably free of troublemakers, so the people touting Dallas as a halfway house are merely ill-informed readers reacting to the Jones trade. Terrell Owens may have been a malcontent, but never a thug. I don’t see the Eagles involved either. They were an 8-8 team that lost McNabb’s two missed games and I don’t think they’ll take a chance here. By the way, the Cowboys’ program for players has been a model for many franchises.

Here we go again…
Ask G Cobb or Mike Quick - I read there that the Eagles are going to make a huge move - maybe they were referring to a switch to the Cowboys m.o. of picking up gangsters, thugs, and morons -
No chance for Philly - he would never be able to stay out of trouble here… too much jailbait for him to buy liquor for - and then throw up on once his car gets pulled over -
Great talent on the field though, it’s just a shame -

balto, tampa, jax likely. they pick up turds. miami merely keeps its own. oakland is always “personality central”… not sure they will take this turd.
frisco / minnehaha doubtful. martz / wilf not for turds. ditto re eagles. after vick… not atlanta. after pac i would think the titans would beg off. kc? i think they dont want henry with all those rookies.
there’s always daytwa! millen is… millen. but that’s a semi-pro team…
never was convinced henry was that talented.

If the Eagles have learned how to draft a contract after the TO situation, Henry might be on their radar. They have been much more flexible on the whole ‘character guy’ thing in recent years. Turns out there are some pretty good player who aren’t the best people. It all comes down to winning.

I’m so sick of everyone being a bunch of copycats and jumping on the bash Dallas bandwagon in a desperate “yeah look at me, I’m trying to be cool and funny” attempt. Guess what, you aren’t cool or funny, but you are lame and idiotic.
Dallas had ZERO turd points last year, and ZERO this year. So until a player from the Cowboys gets arrested, STFU already. It was funny (not really) the first 200 times, after that it just got old and stupid. It makes you look petty, jealous, and hypocritical.
Why is it that you guys are so quick to point out Dallas has a bunch of “convicts” or whatever, but you fail to see and mention the 13 players Dallas sent to the Pro Bowl, or players with outstanding community commitment like Jason Witten, who was a finalist for Walter Peyton man of the year award, as well started the Score foundation for prevention of Domestic Abuse.
There isn’t a single team in the league that doesn’t have at least one player on it with character issues, so it’s not like whatever team you are supporting is any better. Trying to bring down another team does not make your team any better.

It’s either Dallas or Washington. He fits in perfectly with Dallas’ other high character players such as Pacman, Tank Johnson, and TO.
He is a good fit for Washington because he is a big name that Dan Snyder can give alot of money to. Even though the Skins have addressed the WR position in the draft Snyder can never resist spending his money on the wrong players.

I’m going to take a shot in the dark and guess the Colts… sure they don’t usually bring in the turds, but with Harrison in trouble with the pending case, I think they need a “solid” number 2 receiver. A. Gonz is a decent receiver, but might not be at that level quite yet. Henry is a temporary solution until he’s arrested again.. at which time they cut him.

I’m telling you guys, it’s gonna be the Bucs or the Vikings.
The Vikes have no one at wideout to help whoever is their QB and purple jesus.
The Bucs have Galloway, but need someone across from him that can spread the field as well. Jackson is fast, but small. They took on Jerramy Stevens last year, this year it’ll be Chris Henry.
