But don't count me among those who think the Eagles are done and the window's closed just because they did not get one. DEFENSE wins. Granted, the Eagles may not appear to have an elite defense. But no one thought the Giants did at the start of last season. If the Eagles can find a way to make it work with Lito, their secondary will be the best in the league. Their pass rushing should be improved. Their LBs are all very young but one year better (hopefully) and show signs of being a decent unit. Special teams are vastly improved. Both should give the offense a shorter field to work with. And the offense is not completely without talent. Westbrook is arguably one of the best, dare I say..."playmakers"...in the NFL. McNabb will now be fully recovered from his knee injury. The offensive line is above average. And Curtis, Brown, and LJ Smith are not completely devoid of talent. I recognize that Dallas may have been the best team in the division last year. And they improved the most in the draft. The Redskins made the playoffs. And that the Giants are the guys that didn't lose the last game of the year. I know the Eagles start in the cellar and have a long uphill season to climb. I'm not saying they're the team to beat. Reggie Brown struggled because of no Stallworth. Stallworth was the reason Reggie played well, so Curtis wasn’t an improvement.
