Here’s a look at what went down on the first day of rookie minicamp for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
TCU DE Tommy Blake, whose first-round potential was marred by mental illness, is participating on a tryout basis along with 37 others.
USF WR Amarri Jackson is hoping to stick in the same stadium where he played college ball.
Third-round pick Jeremy Zuttah primarily played center on Friday.
WR Dexter Jackson says that the playbook is “a little complicated.” (And that’s like saying coach Jon Gruden uses “occasional swear words.”)
Jackson could end up being the starting “Z” receiver, if he can beat out Ike Hilliard, Maurice Stovall, and Michael Clayton.
Why do we have a feeling that any teams that passed on CB Aqib Talib will eventually regret it?
Josh Johnson and Sam Keller took the snaps at quarterback.
Five more undrafted free agents were signed on Friday.

I think you’re right about Talib. The more I read about him and see his demeanor, the more I like him. I think (and hope) his problems are behind him, because I think the Bucs got a steal drafting him.

“Why do we have a feeling that any teams that passed on CB Aqib Talib will eventually regret it?”
That is what we’re hoping for here in Tampa. If this kid can become what we expect of him, then it’s another notch on the belt of the greatest DC the NFL has ever seen Monte Kiffin and of course his understudy Secondary Coach Raheem Morris.

Wait! How does a guy with a mental illness opt to go play for Jon Gruden? Gruden? Mental illness?
I was hoping this guy gets a chance, but not Gruden. Herm? Yes. Reid? Yes. Dungy? Yes. Hell even Beelichick!!!!
Gruden? The guy just stepped into the twilight zone!!!
Am skeptical ….truly disappointed that the guy will not reach his potential under Gruden.

It’s not John Gruden Mother F-Bomb’er, it’s Jon Gruden. Spell it right if you’re going to type my name! Thank you.

Damn, I forgot that Coach Crunk aka Raheem Morris had gone to Tampa Bay. Hope he doesn’t screw Talib up too much.

Raheem Morris is an excellent DB coach, he turned Jermaine Phillips from a bum who everyone wanted cut to a guy who was snubbed from the Pro Bowl last season.
