He says nothing about being contacted about a job, or about wanting to go to the Raiders. I don't think it sounds at all like he's "expressing optimism" (as Florio puts it) that he'll be hired by Oakland. His response was a much more PC answer than "What a load of crap! Why would I want to work in such a messed up situation?!" It's like when the top guys in the draft are asked (before the draft) if they have any preference on which team picks them. Most of them (except Eli) have the same kind of response - "oh, they're all great organizations, it would be an honor to play for them." That's all Samir did, gave the same kind of answer. It's a non-story. The Chronicle is blowing smoke again.
