Who’s the last guy in the NFL that you think would be involved in a shooting? Take a minute to write down a name. (And ignore the title to this article in doing so.)
If you wrote down “Marvin Harrison” (and more than a few of you undoubtedly did . . . especially if you weren’t able to ignore the title to this article), then you win.
The Italian leg lamp will be arriving tonight.
Harrison, per our friends (except one of them) at WIP radio in Philly, is being investigated for his role in a shooting that occurred Tuesday night outside his North Philadelphia bar.
Harrison was involved in an argument with the victim at the ironically-named “Playmakers” bar. As the victim left and was walking to his car, Harrison was following. Shots rang out, and the victim was struck in the hand. A young girl was struck by broken glass from a car that had been struck by a bullet.
Ballistic tests showed that the bullets came from a custom-made Belgian gun. Harrison owns one of the guns in question.
Questioned about it at a Philadelphia car wash that he owns, Harrison admitted that he owns such a gun, but that it has never left his home.
Later, the gun was found in a bucket at the car wash. Tests revealed that the gun was the same gun involved in the shooting, and that seven bullets were fired at the time.
Folks, Marvin is innocent until proven guilty. But unless there’s a socially-challenged [Editor’s note: Is that better?] cousin (or a dog with a thumb) on whom this thing can be pinned, Harrison’s quest for Jerry Rice’s all-time records might be derailed by something other than bad knees.

Wow. I would have had Harrison on the top of my list of players NOT in trouble. Crazy.
Questions:
1) Were other people with Harrison who might have done the shooting?
2) Are any of those people associated with the Car Wash where the gun was found?
3) Why do professional atheletes think that they need to cary guns with them when they could all whup the “average joe” any time they needed to?

Your right Florio, Marvin is toast. I guess he thought since he has a permit for the gun he could shoot at somebody. Indy needs some provisional turd watch points. They have a high powered offense there too. (.50 caliber to be exact)

Wow! What a way to end a stellar career. Even as a Pats fan I hate to see a great WR like Harrison turn out to be about as or possibly even worse than Pacman Jones.
I’m sorry. But if Harrison chased a guy out of his bar with a gun and ends up shooting a guy, he needs to do some real jail time.
As for his football career, I am guessing he will retire before Goodell can suspend him to salvage whatever legacy he is going to have.

No…..effin…way…
At the risk of being hypocritical, I will give Harrison the benefit of the doubt until he’s charged with anything…because he’s been nothing but a stellar person until this report…that I know of but…wow.

say what you want about Terrell Owens being a distraction.. but he’s never tried to shoot someone with a 50 cal outside of a bar.
From what I understand about 50 caliber…. when you shoot someone with that you’re pretty much understanding they will be seriously disfigured or dead when the smoke clears.
