I would like for you to name more than one player who is on the current Ravens roster who has come from the Browns since they re-entered the league in 1999 (A clue: Other than Matt Stover who was from the original Browns team there isn't one.) Then compare that number to how many former Ravens players are on the current Browns roster, off the top of my head there's Jamal Lewis, Derek Anderson, and their punter Paul Zasdiul (spelling?).

I can give you that the Ravens offense has been subpar in recent seasons, but with the addition of Cam Cameron as OC and the influx of fresh talent they will be turning that around.

Additionally, how can you claim that the Ravens defense is terrible? They were still ranked the 5th best defense last season and haven't been below that mark in the last 3-4 seasons, doesn't sound like a "terrible" defense to me.

Also would you care to rationalize your statement that the Ravens and I quote "wont win but 4 games next year"? Have you failed to remember that they played the Patriots nearly to their only regular season loss (and they would have had the refs not handed it to them at the end of the game) and that several of their other loses were close games that ended as a lose due to just plain back luck. Now bear in mind that this was all accomplished while starting up to 3 rookie on the Offensive Line throughout the season, missing both starting corners for most of the season to injury, their leading pass rusher in Trevor Pryce, their starting Quaterback in Steve McNair, their best Go-To guy in Todd Heap and back-up Daniel Wilcox, not to mention the other nicks and bum that several other players were playing with (Jarret Johnson was playing most of the season with a cast on his right hand).

Finally, Ray Lewis has repeatedly said he started in the NFL as a Raven and he wants to retire a Raven. Beyond his talents just as a player, which are still better than many younger players at his position, he forms the heart and soul of the Ravens defense, he played a major role in making the Ravens Defense a dominant force in the NFL over the last decade.

Well, I could go on as your statement was had more holes than swiss cheese, but I'll leave it at that and give you this prediction: the Ravens will have a bounce back year and will give the Browns and Steelers and run for their money for the AFC North title.

"Who in the world would have the nerve to cut the kid brother of Ray Lewis?"

This is probably a big part of why the Ravens (who badly need depth behind Willis McGahee) didn't sign Lattimore. They signed Jonathan Ogden's younger brother a few years ago and then had to cut him, creating some bad feelings between them and Jonathan Ogden.

Too bad he wont make the team. It would have been interesting to see if Ray lit up or let up on his half brother when Dallas and B'more play this year.

As long as you sign these guys' checks you are safe, but when you stop, Pacman-Lewis-Tank may hire someone to pop a cap-Stab you in the neck-or pop another cap in yo ass. Heck, they may do it themselves and save a few benny boys. I am a boys fan and I fore see a repeat of the opening seen of the Last Boyscout with these convict.

He didn't have much around him at Maryland so who knows what he'll look like in their system. Dallas has a pretty competitive backfield already so he'd hafta really explode to even make the practice squad. If all this is about them OFFICIALLY announcing his signing, that's something to jazz the fans and shut the editors up. Florio pulled the sniper scope out with this post.

And to Volkof52, Lance Ball is better than Jerry Ball.

As much as your Ray Lewis conspiracy theory seems like it has wheels, he is going to have a tough time making the team. They have Barber, and they drafted Felix Jones and Tashard Choice, so there are the RB's on the gameday roster. In the past, the Cowboys have only carried one more RB total, on the practice squad, Alonzo Coleman. The organization seems to be high on him as there was talk of moving him to the gameday roster after the departure of Julius Jones and Tyson Thompson. So Lattimore would have to beat out Coleman and whatever other undrafted free agent RB's the signed (if they did not at all, no clue), just to make it on to the practice squad.

I'm guessing you are saying that Cowboys will carry four running backs on their roster? They done have Marion Barber, while drafting Felix Jones and Tashard Choice.

I can't see him moving to fullback since he only did 11 bench reps, so that is out of the question.

You can try to put him on the practice squad, but then he is free to sign with any other team's active roster. The only way Keon Lattimore makes the Cowboys roster is if he is a special teams ace.

As far as keeping Lattimore on the roster to try to bring Ray Lewis to Dallas next season, you must remember, Jerry Jones isn't concerned about what happens next year, worrying about the future is for teams that are rebuilding. Jerry Jones is ready to win NOW, he is ready to bring the 6th Vince Lombardi Trophy to Dallas NOW. I just don't see Lattimore making the team.

Great reporting. If it happens, you can point it out and say "I told you so."

If it doesn't, (1) nobody's going to come back and look at this by then, and (2) you can hide behind the "idle off-season speculation" banner.

Well done.

This is a bit of a stretch don't ya think? Does Ray Lewis have that many productive years left? Seems to be hurt a lot.

i can see it now, romo chokes the boys out of the playoffs again so jones brings in more defense. what? zach thomas didnt get the job done, ok lets bring in ray lewis. than sugar ray leonard, then leonard little, then little richard, then richard petty, then tom petty and the heart breakers, then the heartbreak kid shawn micheals, then micheal mcdonald, then the dooby brothers, as long as were at it lets bring in chris henry, he likes the doobies....now that is some wild speculation

Why would Jones be looking to sign Ray Lewis? He hasn't been arrested for a long time or suspended from the league in the last few seasons.
