Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden has gotten one step closer to his goal of having an entire roster made up of nothing but quarterbacks.
Former Nebraska quarterback Sam Keller, who was not selected in last weekend’s draft, is heading to Tampa today to participate in the Bucs’ rookie minicamp.
Keller will be one of two rookie quarterbacks at the minicamp, alongside Josh Johnson, whom the Bucs drafted out of San Diego in the fifth round on Sunday. Keller is most likely just a camp arm to help with passing drills, but if he shows some potential, is there any doubt that the quarterback-collecting Gruden will want him back for training camp?
“If it doesn’t work out, I’ll then go to the Arena League,” Keller said.
The Bucs also have quarterbacks Jeff Garcia, Brian Griese, Luke McCown, Bruce Gradkowski, Chris Simms and Jake Plummer under contract.

All 8 of these QBs are better than the useless Tevaris Jackson. He won’t even be in the NFL in 2 years.

Jag’s could trade Matt Jones (QB turned really lousy receiver) to the Bucs for a ummmmm well for nothing and that would give Tampa 8 QB’s ….
Only 45 more to go to make a full roster….

I would retire before playing a single snap at QB for John Gruden. The most overrated coach since Mike Ditka.

Look a little deeper. Last year, Gruden picked up Zach Talyor, another ‘product’ of Bill Callahan (Enemy Number 1 in the great state of Nebraska).
And you’ll remember that Callahan was the loyal assistant to Gruden and took over Gruden’s well-oiled machine. And Callahan did take them to the Super Bowl and got beat down mightily by Gruden. Callahan performed one of the worst coaching jobs in Super Bowl history. So Gruden had no hard feelings. Callahan wasn’t a threat to him.
So Callahan takes the Gruden well-oiled machine and puts sugar in it’s fuel tank. They absolutely collapse. Callahan fired! Raiders players quit on him. “We must be the dumbest football team in America.”
Enter Frank Solich. Frank Solich goes 10-3 at Nebraska and gets fired. They have high standards! Who else to improve on 10-3 than Bill Callahan.
Long story short, Callahan tanks and is widely regarded as one of the worst football coaches in the history of BCS football.
But, at the end of Callahan’s tenure, Zach Taylor, NE QB, gets an ‘invite’ to Buc’s camp, a favor to Gruden so Callahan can promise QB recruits that ‘he can put a QB in at the NFL.’ Of course Callahan made a call to Gruden asking for a favor.
Anybody who watched Nebraska the past two years knows that these guys have no business even buying an NFL replica jersey. These are nothing but ‘do my buddy a favor’ type stuff. The good ole’ boy network.
Then, Callahan lands in NY (Jets). Hope that works out well for ya Jets fans!

This guy is just a rooke camp arm. That’s all, it’s not Gruden collecting QBs. This guy will probably won’t even be a Buc after this weekend.
