President George W. Bush welcomed his last NFL championship team to the White House on Wednesday, the Super Bowl XLII-winning New York Giants.
In so doing, Bush took a jab at one of the NFL teams from his home state of Texas.
“We’re going to send Jessica Simpson to the Democrat National Convention,” he said in reference to the perception that Simpson created a distraction for the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Tony Romo.
The team also visited wounded troops at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Ron Paul was against the Civil War …
He’s a too much of an isolationist. Now, what we’re doing in Iraq is wrong, and plenty of people are needlessly dying as the deficit gets larger, yada yada, but you have to be involved with the rest of the world. Paul is a good man, but definitely too extreme in his libertarian and isolationist (he denies the latter, but c’mon) views to run a country that does need a strong — but moral and sensible — central government.
