Kenny Watson.

Kenny Irons.

Forget Shaun Alexander. They should sign Kenny McCormick.

what more exciting alexander's gap or chad johnson's fake gold teeth?

anyways, alexander would be a perfect fit, he would be a better hometown discount than ken griffey jr., he could bring positive press since he is a smiling positive fellow and a calm guy, shaun could also finish out his career in cincy and work beside mike brown in the front office.

I wouldn't be surprized to see Alexander go to Green Bay. TT is cheap, and rarely spends big money on free agents. It sounds like, at best, Alexander will have nothing but low dollar offers, so what a deal for TT. Sure Grant "blowed it up" last year, but he was a three year practice squad player and now that teams have footage of him, they will have a better feel of how to shut him down. Alexander's presence and experience would be welcome to a the weakest running corps in the North...if not the whole league.

Cincy is the ugly duckling of the offseason. What free agent wants to walk into that mess? Shaun might not have many other suitors though.

Shaun wants to go to a contender, so I wouldn't rule out Philly, New England, Tampa Bay or even take a chance with Parcells in Miami depending on Ronnie Brown's recovery. Look for Houston to be a dark horse candidate for his services.

If he signs with the Bengals, he'll be closer to his youth center. This way he'd be able to spend some time and fix it up. Maybe Ocho Stinko could help with all of his spare time if he holds out.

shaun alexander is a charater guy, the only thing he did wrong was go down early instead of getting tackled, and whined about not winning the rushing title, but i cant blame the guy, nfl careers are short, and you must attain all the stats, get all the money , and win as many games ASAP before your time is done, also shaun is good with the media, doesn't cause beef in public, and is always smiling, he isnt grumpy like corey dillon. The only drawback was when he ditched the YMCa, but who can blame him, that dump was doomed from the beginning.
If the Bengals get a new indoor facility, and clean up their team image, they will always be able to get top notch free agents due to them having a franchise QB and a players coach in Marv.

Not sure this makes sense. Sean is an awesome person, but is older than Rudi Johnson. How could they afford both? If they can only afford one of these guys, I would assume they would keep the 28 year old Rudi.

The Bengals have reached an agreement with UC to build an indoor facility. It's not that the Bengals are cheap when it comes to this issue; most facilities are paid for with tax dollars. It costs a lot of money for an indoor facility and Hamilton County voters just paid for two new stadiums (Great American and Paul Brown)and Cincinnati is TRYING to get a new riverfront project done, but I doubt that will happen either. Good question on the GM front, and hopefully this year we will develop some good LB's. DE is sound on one side with Geathers, the bigger problem is at DT.

As for Alexander, it would be great to have our hometown boy wearing stripes but I agree with most of the comments from the original posting saying Shaun is just too old to bring in. We have a lot of younger running backs in a crowded and injured backfield already. Why would any Bengal fan want an older back to mix in with that? Truth is they don't, they're only blinded by the fact he is from Boone County across the river.

Isn't one broken down running back enough? Rudi Johnson has fallen off the past couple of years and so has Shaun Alexander. Even if we did sign Shuan, Rudi should be cut. There's no reason to pay for two of these guys. They are both beaten down.

Although it appears just about anything would be an upgrade at this point, I'd like to see what a healthy Kenny Irons could do in this offense. I really liked the potential this guy had. Maybe the Bengals already have the spark they're looking for.

also the bengals need to ditch the black jerseys & pants, and only keep the orange jerseys, also why are the bengals so cheap that they are the only NFL team without and indoor practice facility? why haven't they hired a qualified g.m. like ron wolf, sunqhist, reese, etc., also when are they gonna finally develop some decent LBs and DEs

perfect match, the "gap-toothed" one can resurrect his career in the jungle and bring character guy to marvin lewis' team, the bengals should a more run-heavy attack, and use a trio of rudi, shaun, and kenny irons.
