Drew Sharp of the Detroit Free Press thinks the Lions are stupid for not trading WR Roy Williams. (Most think they’re stupid for many more reasons.)
In 2008, Giants WR Sinorice Moss plans to ”shock the world.” (He’d accomplish that by getting through a single practice or game without getting injured.)
The Texans have re-signed OT Fred Weary to a one-year, $1.5 million deal.
NFL Network and NFL Films won three Sports Emmys each.
A judge has ruled that a lawsuit brought by retired players against the NFLPA may proceed as a class action.
The Cowboys say that RB Felix Jones can carry a heavy load, if necessary.
Former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr says he’s confident that WR Mario Manningham won’t cause any trouble in New York.
Were the Giants wise to keep TE Jeremy Shockey?
The Eagles weren’t aware of any efforts by the Jaguars to trade for CB Lito Sheppard.
In Washington, Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly will start out at the “Z” receiver position behind Santana Moss.
The guy who once played bumper cars with a traffic control officer hopes to own a racing team.
The Titans had little debate in the draft room.
QB Colt Brennan bristles at criticism from guys like Mel Kiper.
The Falcons are seeing a drop in season-ticket renewals.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy says that QB Aaron Rodgers is “our guy.”
The Fins cut QB Matt Baker and DT Steve Fifita.
Giants QB Jared Lorenzen said “Uh-oh” when the team drafted QB Andre Woodson. (Then again, Lorenzen might have said that because, at the very same moment, he dropped his banana split.)
Former NFL player Ivan Caesar was shot and killed in his home.

Brennan is correct. he was the most accurate passer in college history and that’s with throwing the most tds in history.
his release isn’t lower than some guys in the NFL.

So Lloyd Carr believes that Mario Manningham will not cause the Giants any trouble. With a Wonderlic score of 6, is he capable of recognizing trouble. Tell us Lloyd, how does a guy with a Wonderlic score of 6 get through one semester of college, at the University of Michigan no less.

For the Titans its out with an old set of dreadlocks and in with a new set. Hopefully for the Titans this set keeps his money in the bank and not in a trash bag so he “can make it rain” at the strip club.

Sports Emmys seemed solid this year. The Super Bowl coverage would have won if Joe Buck didn’t call that crazy catch and the Eli Manning “Great Escape” like it was the first 2nd down of the game …
WHAT? Monday Night Football didn’t win? Haha. They got some improving to do, big time. I don’t think they will, but whatever. Gotta love watching football, and Tirico has a great voice. And I like Jaws and Kornehiser … but bad chemistry, I guess. Nascar does do a solid job, however. Kudos to them on the win.
College Gameday is good, but this year I liked Football in America better; I might be in a minority on that, though. I always look forward to that, just like Inside the NBA because the chemistry between Ernie, Charles, and Kenny Smith are amazing.
I would have liked Marv Albert over Al Michaels. Even though the sport is basketball. Albert is the greatest sports announcer of all time: YES!
Maaaaybe Barkley or Bilas over Collinsworth, but that was the right choice. Chris Collinsworth is sooo good at analyzing. Also, gotta love John Madden. Football seemed to dominate! And JB is always gooooood. I would have liked to see Curt Menefee nominated, but the others listed are ahead of him right now, except I don’t know who Al Trautwig is.
Football forever.
Don’t worry, I never write out my stream of consciousness.

Please don’t post any more links to Drew Sharp columns about the Lions.
The guy is a shock jock journalist–he says things to get people riled up. That’s it. He never has anything substantial to say, never has any insight, and never has any league sources or input for his material.
I’ve got no problem with journalists being negative about the Lions. They deserve it. But Sharp is a hack who is upset with the fact that he is stuck in Detroit instead of living it up in L.A. or New York. Don’t give this guy any more of the attention he desperately craves.

Why doesn’t some one just say it, you can’t sell a white player in Atlanta. They are going to have to win games to get fans to come back .

Roy Williams and Jeremy Shockey should both be traded … why don’t they just swap them out … NYG needs a WR and DET needs a TE … Shockey & Manningham for Roy Williams seems fair enough

“Former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr says he’s confident that WR Mario Manningham won’t cause any trouble in New York.”
Yeah… Give a “turd” lots of money and one of the biggest stages in the US. Sure he won’t cause any trouble. That’s like saying Mike Vick discovered god while in prison and is now a changed man… like saying Ricky Williams has given up his friend mary jane… like… well, you get the point. Mario will be arrested at least once (wrongly accused of course) within the next six months. Once a turd, always a turd.

@ VegasCHris
You mean the same Jared Allen that got shutdown by Chad Clifton last time he faced the Packers?
From Nfl.com:
“Key stat:
The Packers, led by left tackle Chad Clifton, did a good job of keeping Chiefs defensive end Jared Allen in check, limiting the NFL’s sack leader to just half a sack and two tackles. Allen had six sacks in his previous two games.”
