Hah! You're out of your league chump...er, Grulks. At least you know when you're beat. I will say you have an IQ slightly above that of room-temperature butter which makes trying to hold a decent argument with you kind of like kicking a cripple.

Wow, tank, you are right. Especially since you just said the same damn thing I did: Kendall knew the rules, and he wouldn't accept what Mangini was trying to ram down the throat of players.

I wish I could be just like you. I would probably be so awesome that everyone would be knocking on my door to make me a GM. If they could get past my childesh rants, complete with yelling, screaming, and cursing.

For the record, I'm not a Mangini fan, apologist or supporter. I simply pointed out the things you said that were incorrect, and blatantly wrong. Obviously the child in you can't handle someone saying (and later proving) you are wrong. It's going to be a very sad sad world for you, until you learn to grow up.

Feel free to write back, argue all you want. I won't be reading your comments, since in a battle of wits you are clearly completely and totally unarmed. I'd have better luck trying to have a discussion with a parked car.

Grulks, you don't have a clue. Kendall was traded because he went against the new regime and Mangini wanted to show who the alpha dog was, pure and simple. You don't know what the hell you're talking about because it was a DECISION BASED ON EGO, not for the good of the team. You also saw that I said I know Faneca wasn't with the Jets and mis-wrote my comment so stop trying to hang on that sh*t. You're also a moron, because this comment is the stupidest thing I ever heard (" but because he has been around so long he knows what the coaches can and can’t make players do in regards to the CBA ) that was the excuse for Mawae you idiot! I never said salary cap numbers either so stop trying to make sh*t up or drive things out of context to make you seem like you know what you're speaking about. You're a Mangini apologist pure and simple and NOBODY will get a point in when you're on the board because the Jets can do no wrong. Take off the rose colored glasses you dope. Mangini will be gone in 09, bank on it. You can cheer on the next victim.

Hey PFT Bloggers,

I think we need to take a step back.

The reality is the Jets haven't won a thing since 1963(is that their title year?) and with a ManGyna and Tannenbum running the show, that streak will continue.

Jets fans, want to compete with the Patriots in the East?

1. Get rid of batman and Robin(Eric and Mikey)
2. Get a Quarterback
3. Stop giving $25million to players like Damian Woody

Its that simple.

jay...eeee...teee...eessss....JETS JETS JETS!!!

Tank the more you write the worse you get.
I never disagreed with you on Woody, or Kendall. I simply stated you were an idiot for talking about how Faneca didnt give the Jets any better value after signing him, and that's because everything you wrote pointed to how Faneca didnt improve the way the Jets O-line played in the 07 season. Of course, since Faneca was still with the Steelers in 07, every point you made in that respect is worthless since it is based on thigns that didnt happen.

Furthermore, Kendall was traded not because of his salary cap numbers, nor because of performance, but because he has been around so long he knows what the coaches can and can't make players do in regards to the CBA. Mangini clearly didnt want a guy like that around, since he is the type of guy that will ignore those rules and make players do whatever he wants.

Regardless arguing with you is like getting a lobotomy. Once proven incorrect, you simply change what you are saying. Say even if I win, it's still f'ing retarded.

Grulks, you're the freakin' idiot. Of course Faneca was just signed. What I should have said is will he give them 5.3 M more worth of productivity this year. So was the money they spent on Woody worth it?. They had to overspend this year for some of the stupid sh*t they pulled last year. Get it? Kendall wasn't there? The O'Line sucked? They could of kept Kendall who was above average and all the extra money they spent on Faneca could have been used to address other needs. Now they pull the same crap with Baker and draft a Tight end way too high and give up a very high draft choice next year to do that.

I love how all the Pats fans are ripping Mangina for taking the Pats (and other teams in the division) free agents/trash. EVERY team does that. Welker, Eckel, and Hobson all came from division rivals.

Tank, you are an idiot. Faneca hasn't played for the Jets yet, he was just signed this offseason. Who who knows whether he is worth it. It's hard to imagine he could make the line any worse. If he plays better at his position in pass/run support, and supplies the necessary leadership in solidifying the line as a whole (which is something that Older offensive lineman have an advantage of over younger players/rookies), then it's hard to put a dollar amount on that.

I'm not saying that the Jets are trustworthy, but to hear all these perceived Pats fans bashing the Jets for some of the very same things the Pats are doing, well that's just ludicrous.

Whether you believe Mangini was right or wrong for snitching on the guy who helped him go from BallBoy to HeadCoach, as Brian Billick indicated, there's no team in the NFL who would ever trust him to come into their organization.

Heck, after last season the only reason Tannenbaum and Woody Johnson (*giggle*) don't fire him is because they expect he'll sing like a bird about every incident of tampering and other front office indiscretions, especially given Goodell's crackdown.

And increasingly we see that players don't trust him either - or they decide that they're better off trying to blackmail the team into a trade.

The Jets are sometimes referred to as "Gang Green" but ever since bringing MangIdiot in, its seeming quite literally like gangrene, with the organization rotting from the inside out.

Yeah, I heard of Faneca, the guy they paid a premium for at $40M with $21M in guarantees ...a 32 year old player and the O line still sucked last year. They WAY overpaid because they played themselves with the sh*t they pulled with Kendall. That's the whole premise of this story we're commenting on. They spent like whores on some old talent this year (Damien Woody was benched in Detroit). So let's see, roughly $8 million a year for Faneca, or $2.7 million to keep Kendall? Did Faneca give the Jets $5.3M more of productivity last year? No way. if they had stayed with Kendall we would have a ton of money that we could have used to lock down someone else they needed. What about the Tight End? How do you know that this kid is better than Baker...because he was drafted way too early at the tail end of the 1st round? Because the Jets put themselves in another shit*ty position...and traded away ANOTHER high draft choice they will need next year to get him?

Mangina is nothing but a Belichick wanna be. The Jets are trying to be the copy cats of the league. He's always picking up New England leftovers. He's a rat fink....nobody likes rat finks. How he ever got the name Mangenuis is beyond me....the knuckle head was trying to play a 3-4 when the team was built for and used for a 4-3. That's like trying to fit a round peg in a square hole...moron.

Frank G its not hard to find quotes of players that have ripped Mangini. The list is pretty high. But to satisfy you I did a quick google search and I found this quote from Dave Ball from last August after he was able to get himself out of NY.

"Thank God I out of there and I've got a fresh start here."

If you do a search I sure you can find the same from Coles, Mawae, and many others ripping into Mangini.

I cant believe we are talking about the J-E-T-S, jets jets jets.

Sorry, any team that gives Damien Woody $25million should only feel sory for themselves. Nice Job Tannen-bum!

I will take "my hoodie" any day of the week.
And so would 30 other NFL franchises.

But would they want a Man-gyna?

8. Look at all the players that have left the Jets in the last few years that have publicly called out Mangini and Tannenbaum. Its becoming quite a long list.

I agree Patsback, Billik would be a great hire for the Jets. But I am not sure Billik would take the job. The Jets would have to can Tannenbaum as well. But the Jets problems go much deeper than the lack of character and integrity shown by Mangini and Tanny they lack football people with football contacts and knowledge.

The Jets need not only need to get rid of the kiddie crew and restore their credibility in the NFL. But they need to start acting like a football organization and hire football people with experience and reputation. The problem is Woody is cheap. he has refused to hire any coaches or GM's with expereince rather he will only hire those from the bargain basement bin. He got Rid of Edwards because he wanted to paid like a normal NFL coach and he hired Mangini and Tanny because they were cheap.

One might recall that Tannenbaum along with Parcells got the Jets into cap hellwhich resulted in the destruction of the Jets franchise. Between 2002 and 2007 the Jets had to constantly shift their cap defecit out one year at a time. Remaning the Jets could not keep their own FA's or sign any new players. With the new CBA last year the jets were finally able torecover from the mess Parcells and Tannenbaum got them in. Now Tannenbaum and Mangini are putting the Jets back on the cap hell road again. Oen might recall the Jets went thru 4 coaches in 2000-2001 and lost Bellichicken as copach because of the financial mess the Jets were in.

Letting Tannenbaum run the Jets finances has again enedangered the future of thsi team and its ability to hrie a better HC and GM. I do not see a positive future here. The only positive would be to clean house and over pay to being in real football men.

Alert the media! An employer isn't following through with a promised raise!!! Welcome to the real world pal. It happens everyday. most of the time, however, it's regular folks living paycheck to paycheck trying to get ahead. I seriously doubt he has that problem.

This guy is just another Latrell Spreewell, "trying to feed his kids". Apparently his kids eat millions of dollars worth of food.

Hey jerkoff, they don't have to keep their promises. That's why the have contracts. If it aint in writing; It doesn't exist.

hey "stout"

good point on te H-back role for keller, but rated a top 25 pick? even if you believe that, there is no tight end coming out of college that should ever be rated higher than the highest rated WR, especially keller, who can't block spam from his inbox, let alone an NFL defensive end. he is slower than a WR, less agile than a WR, and can't catch as well as a WR. the jets should have taken the highest rated receiver on their board. heck, malcolm kelly probably blocks better than dustin keller, draft him and line him up at H-back

Mangini has a short history of character problems with the Jets.

1. Mangini cheated against the Colts in 2007. Substituting players in without letting the the Colts substitute defensive players in violation of the ethical agreement all coaches had. Because of Mangini's actions not only did Dungy question Mangini's ethics and integrity but the competition committee immediatley met within a few days and clarified the rule so Mangini could not do this again.

2. One will recall Mangini has been disiplined by the league for playing fast and loose with the injury report and for doing the same with depth chart disclosures.

3. We all know about Mangini ratting out NE to the league to gain himself a competitive advantage. While its hard to approve of what NE did its something everyone has been doing for a long time and there are better ways to handle it without becoming a snitch. Like Detroit and Green Bay handled the situation in 2007 and how NE handled it when the Jets did the same to them in 2007. Nothing lower in life than being a rat. Mangini showed his true colors here.

4. Mawae Mangini and Tanny booted him out because they felt threatened by him in 2007. He had a low contract and they saved virtually nothing (1.3 millon) by cutting him.

5. Kendall He was asked to take a pay cut to help the team in 2005 in return he was promised to recoup that that money. Again the ego of Mangini and Tannenbaum got in the way of integrity and the best interests of the team which then led to both sides sticking their heads in the sand.

6. Coles He was asked to restructure and again promises were made. The Jets again tried to play fast and loose with those promises. The difference here was that Coles is well liked and important part of the Jets locker room. After spending money on FA's they had no choice but to honor their promise to Coles.

7. Baker He will be the third lowest paid tight end on the roster behind Bubba Franks and Keller. Can they snub him and lie to him? Keller cannot do Baker's role and block. Is rank's healthy and can he fill in for Baker? Possibly.

8. Look at all the players that have left the Jets in the last few years that have publicly called out Mangini and Tannenbaum. Its becoming quite a long list. This is a place that players and coaches simply do want to go near. Its all because of a lack of character and integrity on the part of Mangini and Tannenbaum.

9. Recall why Mangini and Belly had the problem. It was because Mangini stole files from the Pats office and tried to hire away Pats coaches.

Now lets look at last year. It was probably the owrst coaching job we have seen by a coach in the last decade. In 2007 the Jets won 10 games but look at how they won those games. The Jets played perhaps the easiest schedule a team will ever play. Almost every oppononet they played luckily was playing the worst football of the season when they played the Jets. Ie. Tennessee the first game of the season startiong Collins with less than a week of practice. Miami two games with Lemon's first game and with harrington just starting and mired in a losing streak. The list goes on and on.

Move to 2007. The Jets lost 7-8 close games that they had no bisiness losing. All those losses they were one two plays away from winning. Mangini's ego dictates that each game that he will show us how smart he is by calling some silly gadget play that almost never works. In 2007 the Jets refused to run the ball. The games they won they ran the ball. The games they lost they did not run the ball. Its that simple. Mangini does not understand when one has a bad defense and bad pass protection one has to run the ball to rest the defense and protect the QB even if it does not work. Team's run the ball the first three quarters to run the ball and win the game in the 4th quater. Watch our games last year the Jets wore down every game in the 4th quater and lost because we were tired.

The Jets took 20 sacks on 2nd down last year because we refused to run the ball. The OL was not near as bad as people make it out to be it was simply the play calling. Run the ball more and our defense would have been much better, our passing game would have been better and we would have been a playoff contender.

The problem is Mangini's ego gets in the way of everything he does. From simple play calling, to integrity issues like not ratting out your freinds, or honoring promises. The Jets failed in the draft this weekend to fill one big need and thats finding a Head Coach with character and integrity.

Can you really blame the Jets for not extending the contracts?

It only opens the door for these players to act like Chad Johnson later down the line and demand yet another contract extension.

The only problem is that the Jets front office keeps telling them they will extend them.

The only problem is that the Jets front office keeps telling them they will extend them.

Magini is a rat and a liar. Can't wait 'til he gets fired...no one is going to hire him.

Maybe Sesame Street will hire him again. That's where he belongs...

Try "inclined to spend money like a drunken sailor." It's a cliche, but efficient as analogies go.

Jets are toast. All 3 AFCE Bills are gonna piss on 'em for years.

If I was a player and my HC promised me more money I wouldn't put too much into it (much less a position coach!)- BECAUSE THAT IS NOT HIS THING TO DO! Contracts is the business of the GM!

This all sounds very familiar. Right before Ty Law left the Patriots, he made almost the same claims. Wasn't Mangini his position coach at that time? I would be interesting to know whether the "promises" made to Law at that time came from Bill or Mangini.

Yea, at least the distrust with the Eagles comes from Banner being honest that he's cheap and won't redo any contract unless your jersey sells like #5 or #36, and even then you need to hold out.

Here is the mistake everyone is making in this.

Keller is going to be a slot/HB type player like Cooley or Gates or Dallas Clark. He will not take time away form Baker a traditional TE.

If Baker is upset about a contract, so be it, but to use the draftin of Keller as another reason to get upset is stupid.

Also, how is it a reach when you pick a guy who was rated as the #1 TE, a 20-25 pick and getting him at 30. Particularly when you need a player to stretch the field and expose the seam that is open against both a cover-2 and a 3-4, the defenses that the 2 most dominate teams in your conference paly.

the odds of 3 guys making the same claim and that claim being false are slim. that being said think about the 3 guys we are talking about. kendall got himself fired for complaining about practice being to hard in arizona. coles wanted more money from the jets 4 years ago so they traded him to washington. washington gave him what he wanted. that kept him happy for about 2 years. then he wanted more money so waashington traded him back to the jets, who again gave him more money. then he complains again and gets even more money from the jets. baker has te most legit beef of the 3 because he actually has out performed his contract. but now you are talking about a long term extention for a guy who never cought more than 41 passes in a year and never even came remotely close to a pro bowl. the jets should dump baker asap before this becomes kendall part 2.
