If there was any doubt as to whether Bengals receiver Chad Johnson has pissed away what could have been a very nice post-football revenue stream through Cincinnati-area radio shows and autograph signings and television commercials and public appearances, there should be no doubt now.
The backlash against Johnson, whose quest to get yet another new contract from the Bengals has morphed into an increasingly brazen effort to force a trade, is strong, and the damage is likely irreversible.
The first tangible evidence of the mounting hatred of the man whose fondness for calling himself “Ocho Cinco” has spawned variations like “Mucho Stinko” and “Ocho Psycho” and “Hey Chad F–k You” (for some reason that one doesn’t rhyme) comes from radio station WGRR.
Per television station WCPO, WGRR is inviting fans to swap their Johnson jerseys for a pair of tickets to a Cincinnati Cyclones hockey game.
We think that there will be many more promotions and events like this as the season approaches, and we can only imagine the reception he’ll receive the next time he walks onto the field at Paul Brown Stadium.

I don’t really think Philly would take him based on the TO experience, but I knew they got the Panthers #1 pick. Supposedly, the Gals got offered two 1s on draft day from someone and turned it down. As a long suffering Bengals fan, I want to get what I can for this fool, because the 05 playoff excitement lasted all of 3 plays (thanks, Kimo von Suck). I do understand why they can’t drop him before June 1st, but with the recievers we got in the draft (I am excited about Jerome Simpson - check out his highlight reels on youtube) I think we can maybe wait till up to week 6 and trade him to whatever team will give up the most. By then, we will know his value and can spread the cap hit over 2 years. The problem is that an over-30 reciever will lose value with every game he sits out. We have probably past his maximum value, but it will be important to get something for him in the end. Corey Dillon walked out of here throwing his gear into the stands as an UFA and got a sub-par bowl ring, and Chad doesn’t deserve that accolade. Hey, we could also wait till June 1 and trade him to the Cardinals for Boldin…

In Philly we had our radio stations pulling similar stunts during the T.O. fiasco.
The biggest one invited all Eagles fans who owned a Terrell Owens Eagles jersey or memorabilia to come down where they would “Burry” T.O.’s Eagles memory.
I believe the stunt was led by Howard Eskin - A radio personality who is often criticized on this website. (For good reason.)

Well, spoonman, Dallas has been to the Super Bowl with any of this current cast - douchebag included.
B-Dawk and some of these WRs? Yep, they made it and just about beat the Patriots, who blew out Dallas last season in “Big-D” (lol).
These “scab” receivers, in fact, made it to 4 consecutive NFC Championships, and came close 2 years ago of 5 in 6 years … so, take your pathetic Cowgirls and their choking (sniff, sniff, T.O.!) QB and his rat-ass trailerpark girlfriend, and go eat some T-Day turkey.
Eagles will sweep the Cowboys this season … T.O. may get a T.D., but then again, it’s all about the individual accomplishment in his book … he and Rosenpuke are made for each other!
Eagles will be back in NFC Championship (again) this season, and once Lito gets traded, they’ll have at least 2 # 1’s — maybe 3 #1’s — in 2009 draft, plus whatever they get for McNabb if they decide to part with him. They’ll be loaded for years to come while Dallas sportswriters stay busy talking about “Will he/won’t he (”Pacman” LOL!) be back?” and whether T.O. “has any gas left?”
Incidentally, will 2008 finally be the season that T.O. goes “Ocho Loco” on Wade Phillips?
In the immortal words of Drew Rosenpuke: “Next Question!” (that’s what you get from a Nova Upstairs Law School Graduate!)

I Have two Ocho Stinko jersey’s. They were given to me by people I repect so I will hold on to them. I may wear them when I paint, or find away of putting another name on that number. Ocho can Sit out this season if he like. The Bengals need to send a message to this player and the rest. Be a man and Honor your Contract.

In the end…my biggest wish, is that Chad Johnson sits out this season. It would be even sweeter, if the Bengals play better with him gone.

A lesson to people considering jersey purchases: Take into account the type of character of ther person’s jersey you’re buying. That’s why my friend was stuck with a useless Odell Thurman jersey for the last 2 years. Maybe the team should also heed the caution I do for a $60 jersey purchase when they’re ready to spend $60million on a guy.

Sorry Eagles fans, you have about as good of a chance to make the playoffs as the Bungles. Admit it, your WR suck and you made the playoffs based on a strong D which just isn’t there any more. Talking about the SB 4 years ago means nothing today, plus how many of the guys from that starting roster will start in 2008…
I’ve always been a fan of McNabb, but you just can’t count on him any more: he’ll play well in 6 games, sub par in 3-4 more and be out the other 6-7.
You will get at best 2nd rd pick for Lito unless some team is desperate due to an injury.
I hate the cowboys, but they are the best & most complete team in the NFC. NYG winning in playoffs & SB last year was the same kind of fluke as Pit winning in 2005. In both cases the team barely deserved to be in the playoffs and by some luck, good playing and horrific officiating walked away w/ the Lombardi.

Oh….about the ACTUAL topic…..let Ocho Psycho rot on the bench. I’m glad the Bengals are taking a stand and I’m hoping it sends a message to the players across the league “you make millions to play a game and you do not own this business, that why you’re the employee and I’m the owner…..now shut up and have fun playing a great game.”

Drew Rousenhaus is comically… the man goes on youtube and begs the Bengals to trade him. What an embarrassment to the NFL. I hope the Bengals stick to their guns - and let Chad sit. He received $5M in bonuses in 2006 and 2007 (and $16M overall)when the Bengals renegotiated his last deal (which still had 3 years left on it), and now Chad is upset because he will “only” receive a his base salary of $3M in 2008.
Maybe the Bengals can send him to Dallas to play with that other cancer - T.O.

I also can’t wait for Chad’s first 3 touchdown game. From the town that still loves Pete Rose, I think Cincinnati will take him back.

Oh, you guys are right. My mind is so cluttered with the memories of all the Super Bowls Dallas won to think straight.
You guys won’t see a Super Bowl until Kolb gets on the field and develops with a young, talented set of receivers. DeSean Jackson is a good start. You guys are a couple of seasons away. Be realistic. Every year I hear you guys say you are going to the super bowl and every year it ends up like that pathetic clip on ESPN where the Eagle fans cry about being let down by the team.
The Eagles dominated a weak division for years when Dallas and New York had be decimated by free agency and the lack of a decent QB for Dallas.

Bengals fan here. I wish Chad would have listened to Carson a long time ago when he said “Shut Up and Play Football.” I’m ready for Chad to go. I think that morale does make a huge difference, and to get all that negativity out of the locker room would be huge for the Bengals.

This is how it will play out. CJ will show up about halfway through training camp and bitch and moan and complain. Marvin will continually not make him one of the dressed 45 on Sunday. CJ will pitch a fit, Mike Brown will suspend him for 4 games and then there will be situps in CJ’s driveway

Hey spooner, how many playoff games have the Cowboys won in the last 9 years? EXACTLY! If you’re reminiscing about Cowboys SBs, you must have one hell of a memory. It’s funny all these Cowboys fans think they have the best team in football because they had a decent regular season last year. When is the last time Romo played well in a big game? EXACTLY! Another couple of years of Romo choking (sniff - that’s my quarterback - sniff) in the playoffs is all you’re gonna get. And we’re a couple years away from what? Not from beating Dallas. We did that last year, the year before, and we’ll do it again this year…three times!

Yeah, I’m sorry but my mind is cluttered with all these Cowboy 1 and done playoff losses, matter of fact I can’t remember them winning a playoff game for the last 12 years I do believe is the correct answer.
Yeah, maybe no SB victories for the Birds, but Birdfans can deal with that…That’s just what we do…But the fact is Philly has done more with nothing than Dallas ever will with all these over paid bums they keep signing…So send CJ to Dallas to join the rest of “Jerry’s kids” so we can just embarrass them again like we did last year….1yd line Westbrook takes a knee for the victory….I love it!

Some of you philly fans forget that the cowboys crushed the eagles in Philly last year. You are such awful fans that you were fighting amongst each other and left the club section well before the end of the half. I know, I was there.
When we left, the parking lot was a disgusting mess. Your trash was strewn all over the place. Why not pick it up? It’s sad how little class you have.

Damn, I make one comment that Chad and T.O. are douches and the next thing you know Eagles and Cowboys fans get worked into a frenzy, and the funniest part is it’s still April. Who knows who’s winning this division this year, it could be the Cowboys, Giants or Eagles and yes they all have a shot, so get over yourselves. I think my original point is still valid though, T.O. is an ass. Memories are short lived when someone you hated suddenly ends up on your team. Cowboys fans couldn’t have possibly forgotten T.O. trampsing all over your star at midfield, twice! Forget the Eagles, Giants or Redskins that year, he was public enemy #1 in Dallas, now he’s the greatest, right? No, he’s still the same douche he was back then, he’s just a douche on your team!!! And trust me, if the Eagles end up trading for Chad, I and every Eagles fan on here will feel the same way, except after the T.O. fiasco, we’ll just be a little more leery, especially when he throws his first little tantrum, flashbacks of all things bad will be fresh in our memories. Guys like T.O. and Chad don’t change or to put it another way, a leopard doesn’t change it’s spots!!!!

Here’s the deal BDawk. I don’t like Owens. I just don’t like that kind of personality. Hated Irvin and “Prime Time” too. They’re all asses. But they can all play and I’ll defend each one of them until my fingers fall off. Anyway so TO’s an ass. He didn’t do anything to the Cowboys except burn the hell out of them almost every time he played them. Can’t fault a guy for that, I think that he doesn’t get a chance to pose on any star if you keep his sorry showboating ass out of the end zone in the first place. I’ll admit that I didn’t hate him so much when he signed with the Cowboys. Reason being that he trashed two teams that I really don’t like. What’s not to like about THAT?!? It’s icing on a really talented cake as far as I’m concerned. I still hate him though. Don’t think he’ll blow up, I think he’s gonna continue help the Cowboys a lot and I hope they find a way to extend his contract.
I think it would be a mistake for the Iggs to get 85. Seems to me that what set TO off against the Eagles was a personality clash with DMac. I know you love the guy, but he has questions regarding his leadership abilities and his ego. I don’t think 85 is anything but another TO-like ass that’s eventually gonna say something to get Mama McNabb pissed off again.

I think that’s what I kinda said Saints12, but, when you have him, your just hoping he doesn’t blow up your team the way he’s blowing up in Cincy, or the way T.O. did in S.F. and Philly. If I had my dream choice of all the WR’s in the league right now though, it would be someone like Fitzy, a guy who’s doing his just without being a prima donna. One thing is for sure, this thread has caused the biggest debate/stir in a while here, lol. I love a good debate!
