If there was any doubt as to whether Bengals receiver Chad Johnson has pissed away what could have been a very nice post-football revenue stream through Cincinnati-area radio shows and autograph signings and television commercials and public appearances, there should be no doubt now.

The backlash against Johnson, whose quest to get yet another new contract from the Bengals has morphed into an increasingly brazen effort to force a trade, is strong, and the damage is likely irreversible.

The first tangible evidence of the mounting hatred of the man whose fondness for calling himself “Ocho Cinco” has spawned variations like “Mucho Stinko” and “Ocho Psycho” and “Hey Chad F–k You” (for some reason that one doesn’t rhyme) comes from radio station WGRR.

Per television station WCPO, WGRR is inviting fans to swap their Johnson jerseys for a pair of tickets to a Cincinnati Cyclones hockey game.

We think that there will be many more promotions and events like this as the season approaches, and we can only imagine the reception he’ll receive the next time he walks onto the field at Paul Brown Stadium.
