If there was any doubt as to whether Bengals receiver Chad Johnson has pissed away what could have been a very nice post-football revenue stream through Cincinnati-area radio shows and autograph signings and television commercials and public appearances, there should be no doubt now.
The backlash against Johnson, whose quest to get yet another new contract from the Bengals has morphed into an increasingly brazen effort to force a trade, is strong, and the damage is likely irreversible.
The first tangible evidence of the mounting hatred of the man whose fondness for calling himself “Ocho Cinco” has spawned variations like “Mucho Stinko” and “Ocho Psycho” and “Hey Chad F–k You” (for some reason that one doesn’t rhyme) comes from radio station WGRR.
Per television station WCPO, WGRR is inviting fans to swap their Johnson jerseys for a pair of tickets to a Cincinnati Cyclones hockey game.
We think that there will be many more promotions and events like this as the season approaches, and we can only imagine the reception he’ll receive the next time he walks onto the field at Paul Brown Stadium.

Lucky for me I never bought an ocho psycho jersey, cause I always get annoyed when he takes plays off, pretends to be hurt, and acts like a moron. I think we should trade him to the eagles for both #1s after june 1st.

I would love to see the Bengals sit on Johnson and his contract for the next 3 years. Someone has to stand up to Drew Rosenhaus and his greedy clients. Chad has been and always will be about himself. Who wouldn’t want to see Drew squirm in another “Next Question” press conference.
Go Bengals. Stick to your guns.

I was siding with Chad Johnson for a while. But he’s definitely taking this whole thing too far. He has to be careful and not make any decisions that can seriously damage the rest of his career.

Sad fact is Johnson has time on his side. We’re nearly 3 months until camp starts, and this mess will grow every day.
Marvin can say he’s not trading Chad, but their minicamps and training camp will be all about Chad even if he’s not there. That’s not a good way to prepare for the ‘08 season.
Cut your losses Cinci…you’d better deal him before this gets uglier. I think it happens come June.

you’ll be lucky to trade him for a beer and a bag o’ chips… this loudmouth is a cancer - Kudos to the Bengals to stay their way and make him honour what he agreed to without anyone pointing a gun to his lobotomised head.

That’s alright timmdog, you can keep psychoboy all to yourself, we’ll keep our two #1 draft picks and use them on two players that are hopefully less of a douche than him. We’ll throw you a 6th rd pick and Brandon Whiting for him though, oh wait,we already did that for the other Douche in Dallas!

There is also a store offering a free shirt if you turn in your Chad Johnson jersey. The shirt reads “86 85″. All of the jerseys people turn in will go to charity. My son has 2 of his jerseys (1-orange and 1 black) he plans to trade his in. We all used to love this man. Whatever happened in the locker room, should have stayed there. He disrespected his team, coaches, and most of all his fans. They have his Fathead on their wall, and his jersey on their back. Both they had to save their money to buy, as he make millions.

Chad wants to get more money from an owner that has used the ‘loyalty clause’ and who quite frankly is one of the reasons a salary floor was put in place when the salary cap was agreed on. These two are made for each other.

Hey Chad, If you want to sit out you can put your “HOF 20??” jacket back in the closet. You have to play the game to get in the Hall of Fame.

Hey Dawk. That douche in Dallas is better than all of the scab receivers you have in Philly. With the exception of Curtis, they wouldn’t even make the 53 man roster in Dallas.

I’ll keep all 4…(4?!) Chad jerseys for the day he returns to planet Earth and scores 3 TD’s against Cleveland. Until then I’ll just sport the #’s 9, 71, 84, 32, and whatever Rivers is going to wear.
I’m with the Bengals on the dispute, but I reserve the right to cheer for him when he straps on his striped helmet come August. I just can’t completely turn my back on a man that has helped lift our franchise out of oblivion.

Timmdog must be drinking Mad Dog…20/20 that is….Both #1 draft picks?? Are you crazy? We’ve been where you’re at and I doubt that the Eagles will keep offering trades at this point. We’ve been down this road before. We had a real funeral at the Linc and buried all T.O.’s jerseys. So we know how this works…He’s worth a 2009 3rd Rd pick and we’ll even throw in Reno Mahe!

This is basically the same situation as TO a few years ago, and both are represented by the same person in Drew Rosenhouse. It would be nice to think that the average fan would stand up for whats morally right, but we all know if your honest with yourself, that as soon as Ocho Stinko scores a TD all will be forgiven from Bungles fans. ESPN and other media will spend countless hours throughout the season covering this self serving, immature baby, who I could care less about! If I never see this guy do a stupid dance, and put on a Hall of Fame jacket again, I would be thrilled! Unfortunately I am in the minority which is why I will have to endure countless stories like TO from every media outlet. My mute button will be well worn down by the time this season ends.

Spoonman, go spoon with T.O. and we’ll stick with what we got. We’ve been on top of the division for 5 of the last 7 years with our scab recievers(pinkston, thrash, mitchell, just to name a few), so tell Jerry Jones to keep overpaying the scurge of the NFL(Tank Williams, Pacman, T.O) and we’ll quietly piece together a SB winning team. By the way, Philly has sent 45 Pro Bowlers to HI since 2000…highest in the NFL. Nothing scab about that…..

Dont pay him any mind, dawk. You couldn’t be any closer to right. That douche down in Dallas hasn’t done a damn thing for that sorry ass team. It’s ashame he couldnt be used as a placeholder in a certain playoff game two years ago. Scab receivers or not, Eagles win the East again this year. I see a trade of a package of picks for Roy Williams in the future. I hope Chad never plays again!
