In the frenzy that erupted following the conclusion of the 2008 NFL draft, the Minnesota Vikings emerged with 16 undrafted free agents.
Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune has the list, which includes Maryland linebacker Erin Henderson and West Virginia receiver Darius Reynaud.
Henderson is the brother of Vikings middle linebacker E.J. Henderson. Reynaud joins the ranks of players who left school with an extra year of eligibility, only to see the draft process leave them behind.
Do these so-called “street free agents” have any chance of doing anything? Once upon a time, the Vikings found defensive tackle John Randle through this process, back when the draft had twelve rounds.

It’s suprising Reynaud didn’t get drafted. WVU didn’t throw the ball a whole lot; but when they did, Pat White always looked his way. He seemed pretty explosive. Of course, being an alum of Turd U (along with Pacman and Chris Henry) he could have some character issues.

Well,
They found Hank Baskett a few years back and then traded him to Philly I think…he’s had a few long touchdowns and makes the occasional catch based solely on his jumping ability.

they really signed some of the best ones. Kyle Wright is also notable. He looked really good at one point at “The M”.

Wow. Marcus Griffin and Kyle Wright. That should be interesting to see play out. Do you have any lists for the other 31 teams?

The Viqueens will probably need every one of these guys to be competitive this year. Hard to win with a high school caliber qb

They moved fast. The Washington Post lists Henderson as one of the free agents the Redskins are after. I guess Vinny was busy cleaning the plane.

Erin Henderson didn’t get drafted?!?! Man we did get a nice haul. You have to think that with so few picks they spent extra time monitoring and preparing to jump all over any guys who didnt get drafted.

Do you guys have a list of the UDFAs by team? I guess we’ll find out sooner or later, but that’s why I come here, to find out sooner.

The reason PFT had this about the Vikes and no one else is the Minneapolis and St. Paul papers had this list within hours after the draft. So I’m guessing the Vikings are one of those teams with the quick ultimatum of signing of having the offered pulled. And they were quick to share this with the local newspapers.
I will say that some teams are more friendly to free agents than others as far as signing bonuses and giving them a fair evaluation. The Vikings have a history of having unsigned FAs making the team, including several players on the roster last year.
Even under the money-pinching Red McCombs, the Vikings paid some of the highest signing bonuses for undrafted FAs (though that may have been a means to finding low paid players as opposed to being generous with his money).
