Despite a checkered off-field past, a poor showing in the Sugar Bowl, recent hip surgery, and a 30-plus-pound weight gain, Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan has been picked in the 2008 draft.
The Redskins landed Brennan with the 20th selection (No. 186 overall) in the sixth round.
Brennan was the tenth quarterback selected.

Apparently Danny thinks this is fantasy football. Back to the basement.

Horrible Horrible pick…. Could of just signed him as a UDFA. I didn’t think any NFL GM would be dumb enough to draft him.

This is a good fit. There are enough Madams in DC to keep him from sexually assaulting a cheerleader.

Wasn’t he supposed to gain that much weight?

The guy was like 185 at the Sugar Bowl. Wouldn’t gaining 30lbs be a good thing?

Was Ty Detmer not available? Nothing against Colt, but any QB can throw for 5000+ yards and 30+ TDs in that offense. Especially against Charleston Southern.

the 30lb gain was a good thing for him. he absolutely needed to put on some size and all the interviews have him doing it in the weight room with a trainer, not on his couch.
brennan would have been a good fit in san francisco

“fantasy football” for taking a flier with the 186th pick?
Thomas Clayton, Tre’ Stallings, Eric Moore, Etric Pruitt, Zuriel Smith, J.T. O’Sullivan, Mario Monds….
Who are these players? they are the last 7 players taken at 186, and there is 1 start between them. I don’t think Colt Brennan is going to do any worse.

He’ll make a good #3. Might as well have a clipboard holder with at least some sign up upside.

This guy is an obvious cut waiting to happen. Danny Wuerffel type good for college not a pro guy. At least he can tell his children that he got drafted and went to pro camp.

Why not take Colt Brennan in the xixth? Who knows? Tom Brady was a sixth round selection.

Spank - You’re saying all the players picked at 186 are a waste? I’m glad you’re the GM and not me….
