We’ve come across a rip-roaring video from Dale Hansen, a WFAA-TV sports anchor who previously worked in the radio booth for the Cowboys.
Hansen rips into the Cowboys for acquiring cornerback Pacman Jones via a breathless rant that makes a helluvalot more sense than anything we could ever say about the transaction. (A better version of it is on the WFAA web site, right here.)
Our favorite line? “If character really doesn’t matter, why don’t they sign Osama Bin Laden to play wide receiver? They need one, he’s six-four, and we know nobody can catch him.”

Well said, I think Jones should be ashamed of himself and hope that the Cowboys never win the big one while Pacman and Owens are part of the team.

This guy is exactly what he is talking about some rich white guy who was given a microphone and a camera so now his opinion matters. First of all get your facts straight about the kid and know that all of his previous charges have been dropped or exonerated. The only ones hes dealing with now are from the Vegas incident which indeed seems to have been a wrong place at the wrong time. If you know what really happend there and you understand the context of it, the situation that unfolded while unfortunate is very common especially in the black american sub culture. The Rapper/athelete lifestyle involves spending lots of money letting people know you have lots of money, having lots of beautiful women around you, and usually as a result of the first three you need a bodyguard with protection, so inevitably guns get into the picture. How many times do you think Pacman and other black atheletes and or rappers have been pulled over, questioned, or arrested by cops who sometimes may have racial prejudices on suspicion that in their nice cars with their entourage and women that they may be drug dealers! I would say most of the time when nothing is really going on police and media come along and blow things out of proportion. Now this also brings up the issue whether an athelete should be partaking in that lifestyle. Now I dont think they should but whether we like it or not that is the lifestyle of the young black male in this country, especially ones with money. So lets maybe give pacman a little break the kid grew up without a father, was raised by his mother and grandmother who died of cancer when he was in his teens, and who also lost another key mentor in his life at a young age. He is lucky hes not in jail. he wasnt so lucky to have a mom and dad there to tell him right from wrong like most of us. when u grow up poor and in the south and then when you lose all disciplinarians in your life, (because his mother as hard as she tried cant be around much because she is working as a single parent trying to provide for her children)all you have is your friends. And when your friends associate in that lifestyle its gonna take you longer to grow up. In the last two years pacman has fathered a child and has learned from his mistakes along with the realization of the magnitude of his actions evidenced by the death of Sean Taylor. So lets quit trying to incarcerate this kid talking about how bad his character is when hes given to more charities and done more for every community hes ever been apart of then any of us can say we have. Give him a break and let him fix his life, but most of all let him stay out of trouble by letting him play!

Do people really change…? No. Will Jerry be happy with Pacman, yeah at first. Here’s the thing, the Dallas area is ripe with strippers and strip clubs… You could tell from his interview with Micheal Irving that he hasn’t learned anything! I’m so sick and tired of hearing, well, “I was immature then”! What are you old now?
Can Pacman play? Oh yea, the question is should he? So, Jerry can say well, “the Patriots were looking at Pacman”. Not true, Pacman’s agent was looking at the Patriots. The local newspaper trying to help the Titans build a market for Pacman is closer to the truth! Jerry, next time you hire a coach like Parcell’s,”let him shop for the groceries”, OK!

Funny and well-written. Factually inaccurate.
I disagree with the assertion that many black men are in jail for things similar to what Pacman has done. Pacman is not incarcerated because there is no evidence to incarcerate him. In Chicago, Tank Johnson was imprisoned “because he is an athlete.” Pacman is free “because he is an athlete.” Perhaps, the Pacman offenses did not carry the sentence of imprisonment? Perhaps, he has NOT been CONVICTED or plead guilty to a criminal act that mandates imprisonment?
Let the man play. If “you” don’t like it, don’t watch, don’t buy the jersey, don’t buy NFL package . .. If “you” don’t watch, NFL teams won’t hire the “thugs” that “you” don’t like. If you do watch, well . . . I guess there is a reason that Jerry Jones owns the Cowboys and “you” don’t. I love capitalism.

That bin Laden joke wasn’t that funny last year when Salisbury used it when the Pats signed Moss. Hansen’s lost all perspective, he thinks that the typical Cowboy fan is a rich white guy in a luxury suite! And hell no I wouldn’t want Pacman to date my daughter, but I wouldn’t want Dale Hansen dating her either! He’s had a boner for Jerry Jones ever since Jones fired him. That “he had me fired the day after I quit” line was hilarious, but not fin the way that Hansen intended it to be.

Nice word choice with the “pile of steaming crap” reference to Jerry Jones, glad to know there are still idiots with a third grade vocabulary watching the nfl. Second of all no man crush here I dont even like Pacman I just think there are too many ignorant people like you who judge without knowing the facts or rationalizing the context of situations to understand what happens and why they happen.
And if you guys understood the trade ramifications and contract being discussed you would know that Jerry Jones has insured his investment like a smart business man, so there will be minimal damage don to the Cowboys if Pacman slips up again.
on a side note while I support the move, I do think it would have been better for the Cowboys to go after someone like Lito Sheppard instead, especially if it would only take a 2nd rounder as PFT reported.

Jerry Jones may be a steaming pile of crap, but he’s the best owner in the NFL. Everything he does regarding the Cowboys is done in the name of making them a better team, whether it works or not. No fan can ask for more. Don’t bring up Kraft, he’s a cheater just like Beel Beelicheat. Don’t bring up Rooney, the Steelers got busted for cheating, too.
