After a flurry of reports indicating that the Rams are leaning to defensive end Chris Long at No. 2, Michael Smith of ESPN unequivocally reports that the Rams will pick Howie’s son with the second pick in the draft.
Somewhere, there’s an intern at ESPN figuring out the last time two guys with the same last name were drafted back-to-back.
Long addresses a huge need for the Rams, but Dorsey would as well. And Dorsey is supposedly rated higher on the Rams’ board than Long.

This is getting silly. My buddies and I have been getting together every year since we returned from Iraq in 2004 in order to WATCH the draft unfold. If the NFL doesnt fix this, we will just have ESPN mouthpieces give us all 250+ picks before the draft even starts. Lame. So who are my Bears getting at 14? Why wait till circa 5pm.

Not surprising they go with the DE vs. DT, considering their history of bad DTs that the Rams have drafted.

Yeah, the intern Trey Wingo already made us aware that the draft has went “Long, and Long” so far. Dunno how we could make it without such insightful analysis as that.

Herbert Taylor (Chiefs T, TCU, 196 overall) and Courtney Taylor (Seahawks WR, Auburn, 197 overall) last year.
Leon Williams (Browns LB, The U, 110 overall) and Demetrius Williams (Ravens WR, Oregon, 111 overall) in ‘06.
Also in ‘06… Davin Joseph (Bucs G, Oklahoma, 23rd overall) and Jonathan Joseph (Bengals DB, South Carolina, 24th overall). Chris Chester and Devin Hester missed it by a letter.
I know, I’m the master of useless information. What can I say, I happened to be looking at the last two drafts this morning.

Yaaaaaay I knew it would be Chris Long. If Glen Dorsey was higher on the St. Louis’ Rams board, though, then why would they draft a guy lower? Because of need?
