We know the report that the Miami Dolphins had agreed to trade Jason Taylor to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 52nd pick in the draft was wrong because the 52nd pick has come and gone. But we still don’t know quite what’s going on with the much-discussed possibility that the Dolphins will trade Taylor.
A strange story in the Sun-Sentinel says that Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga thinks the team owes it to Taylor to trade him to a team that can play in the Super Bowl.
“He deserves that. If we can get him placed in a spot where he can go to the big game, then we would do that,” the Sun-Sentinel reports that Huizenga said on ESPN Radio 760 AM. “We’ve had a lot of conversation but we never really got down to saying trading him. That never happened. What’s the best thing for Jason? He’s got a big career ahead of him yet…He should go where he can go to the big game.”
Apparently Huizenga doesn’t think his own team can go to the Super Bowl.
But the strange thing about the Sun-Sentinel story is that it cites “an Internet report” as saying Taylor was traded, and then continues, “Taylor was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for three draft picks according to a report on NFL Network.”
We’ve been watching NFL Network all day, and we can assure you, NFL Network reported no such thing. We do not know which “Internet report” the Sun-Sentinel is referring to.
In any event, the trade talk surrounding Taylor continues, but so far, it’s just talk.
UPDATE: The Sun-Sentinel has now removed that article from its web site.

That would be a classy move by the Dolphins and for Taylor. Let the team get a pick for him, let him play somewhere with a chance to leave on top, or at least make a run at it. If anyone recalls, Boston did the same at the end of Ray Borque’s career, but Borque is a Bruin for life, even though the picture of him with the Stanley Cup is in an Av’s jersey. The Dolphins should do the right thing and afford JT the same opportunity.

First off douche bag, his name is Ray BOURQUE, and Jason Taylor could hold Ray’s jock. Jason Taylor has been an above average player nothing more. The Buc’s would be stupid to give anything up for a 34 year old TEACHER to Gaines Adams…that’s all he would be. Ray Bourque was one of the best defenseman to ever play the game…the only knock on Bourque was he was Canadian!
P.S. Figures you’re a Philly fan!!!

Why is Wayne Huizenga even speaking in this situation, especially against his own organization??

hey Jub22:
Why don’t you back the hell off! Just because your teams suck doesn’t mean you gotta rip Philly because the flyers and sixers are doing great in the playoffs and your teams suck! Bourque was not that good, and he would be ashamed that you defended him like that! So before you go rippin people from Philly, why dont you take a look at your own butt first you stupid cheerleader!
About the article, Chad Johnson also deserves a trade. That doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen!

Jason Taylor to the NYG would be a good fit, particularly if Strahan doesn’t return.
