With the No. 1 overall under contract and media reports indicating who the next three picks will be, some league insiders are wondering whether one or more of the reported picks is bullsh-t.
“In order for these reports to be true, someone from inside the war room has to be breaching the confidence of their own team,” one league source said.
So the goal could be to intentionally put out bad information in order to get another team to trade up, now that they see that the guy they want is being strongly linked to another team.
The other dynamic is that some of the guys who are in the war room aren’t truly in the loop about what a team plans to do.
Indeed, Michael Smith of ESPN’s report as to the Raiders at No. 4 is that McFadden is the guy “unless someone wows them with a trade.”

This should have started @ 12 Eastern. I’m so sick of speculations and half the day wasted listening to hot air that’s been repeated for the past 2 months already. And only 2 rounds today after all this “hype” is brilliant.

I prefer the noon start as well, me and my boys BBQ have a 10 minute football game because they’re fat and this just throws everything off. Plus I didn’t realize it started late and now I’m hanging here with my buddy and his lame fiancee!!! What a shitty draft day

I agree, it should have started at 12 noon EDT. With all the complaints of the draft taking too long, they went through all this garbage to shorten the selection times, restrict the number of rounds of day one to two rounds, and cram the rest into day two.
Yet, after all that, they move the start time to 3pm. Seems completely counter intuitive to me.

I agree, why move the draft back to 3pm from noon. Start at noon, 10 minutes on 1st round and keep going.
