Why are we discussing anything based on something Merrill Hoge had to say?

Even though we are talking about Mike Brown, this is not about money. This is about a guy (Chad) running his mouth, disrespecting his teammates, and threatening to sit out even though he is under contract until 2011. He and his sleeze agent are trying to basically bully the Bengals into trading Chad, and they are not going to do it because of the precedent it will set. If Mike Brown does decide to trade Chad at some point, it will be on Mike Browns terms.

We're talking about Mike Brown. He's not gonna clear up room under the cap just so he can spend MORE money. Have the Bengals EVER restructured a player's contract? That's typically what you're gonna see owners that try to maximize their ability to spend money under the cap do now and then

The Bengals can spread the cap hit out over two seasons if 85 is cut or traded AFTER the June cutoff. Do it now and the hit counts 100% against the '08 cap. Have another cup of coffee.

You are speaking like the Bungles have a GM who understands the salary cap or football. They are trying to send a message around the NFL that they stink and Ocho is the mascot.
