As it turns out, Browns cornerback Kenny Wright isn’t the only NFL defensive back who recently was unable to use his football skills to get away from police.
Niners cornerback Donald Strickland, on April 13, had a similar incident in San Jose. As police were trying to arrest Strickland for public intoxication outside a night club, Strickland ran away.
A half-block later, he fell down.
After a brief struggle with the cops, he got up and ran again. But he didn’t get far before they caught him.
Strickland was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest.
Under the more esoteric rules of Turd Watch, the fact that the arrest was kept under wraps by Strickland and/or the 49ers for more than a week allows us to re-set the “Days without an Arrest” counter to zero, knocking it down from its current perch of, um, four.

To take a Ron White line “Drunk in Public”. He should claim that he wasn’t drunk in public, he was drunk in the bar…till they threw him out.

Esoteric or not, I don’t know how you could possibly argue that the NFL hasn’t gone four days without an arrest. Just because you didn’t find out about it until now, doesn’t mean it happened today.
