Well, we’re now guaranteed to have several more months (or years) of the whole “Will Brett unretire?” talk. Appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman, former Packers quarterback Brett Favre talked about his status.
“I think when training camp gets close, something’s bound to happen,” Favre told Letterman.
Letterman then asked him what that means.
“I don’t know,” Favre said. ”Did I just say that?”
Thanks a lot, Brett. As if we didn’t have enough else to worry about as the season approaches.
On a completely unrelated (and irrelevant) note, Favre actually wore a jacket for the appearance. Of course, he wore it over an untucked, collared shirt and a pair of jeans. While the jacket didn’t really match the rest of the ensemble, it curiously was the same color as the jacket he’ll be wearing five years from now when he’s welcomed into the Hall of Fame.
Or maybe longer than five years from now, depending upon whatever “something’s bound to happen” means.

The Madden curse has officially hit. Now we the fans are going to be ruthlessly subjected to this AGAIN after the guy FINALLY “retires”.
Madden needs to put himself on the cover. Then he can get laryngitis, miss a week of Sunday Night Football and have to be replaced by Tony Kornheiser. The football gods will be so sickened and shamed for having created this fiasco that they will lift the curse forever.
And we all live happily ever after, never having to listen to the words “Madden Curse” or “Favre considers retirement” ever again.

Didn’t anyone actually watch the interview? He said that something such as “butterflies in his stomach” was bound to happen come mini camp time. The guy is done. No more football for Brett.

I think Favre is just a guy who lives for a challenge. Now that the Vikings have THE OMG BEST DEFENSE EVER!!!!!, Favre wants to see if he can beat them 35-0 this year.

Brett can’t take the hint. The Packers want to move on (or move out) and clearly tried to put the Favre-Watch to rest by announcing they would retire his number during the first game of the season. Don’t let the door hit you in the butt.

What an egomaniac. The man can not controll himself. He constantly needs to seek out attention to be told how great he is. It is just getting to the point of pathetic.

Why do people always have to take stuff this way? Favre was referring more to the feeling of wanting to play again. OF COURSE he’s going to want to play again. That doesn’t mean he’s going to. HE’S RETIRED and it’s staying that way.

If Favre returns with the madden curse not only will he get injured, but he will be so old the first sack of the season he will turn to dust, then Rodgers will come in, break his legs on the snap, then Culpepper will jump in and throw picks all day. Come on pack. Get it together.

What a stinkin’ attention whore. For a guy who was such a warrior, he has become very difficult to like. Take you and your boneheaded INT’s, and STAY RETIRED.

Seriously. He cannot be so stupid (even he cannot be) to not realize that his remarks are a distraction to Aaron, the team and the fans. Even if he honestly is thinking “maybe I should come back,” he should keep that to himself until he actually makes a “final” decision. The reality is that he’s a selfish kid who can’t live without all the attention. Just go run for Governor of Wisconsin already and fulfill your ego problems that way.

I say the following as a Packer fan who respects and appreciates Favre’s career.
Brett, STOP EMBARASSING YOURSELF. The country bumpkin act is wearing a little thin. Retire with the same dignity with which you played the game.

A lot of Haters up early this morning. I watched the interview and Favre was being coy, and then clarified by saying it would be “butterflies” or something like it.
I don’t get all the hate towards Farve though. He’s a top 5 QB all time who played through pain and gave it all for his city. He’s what you hope your team drafts instead of Ryan Leaf. People on here make it sound like he likes to kick small children for fun. He’s not an attention whore. Chad Johnson is an attention whore. Favre is 180 degrees from that…

Way to make a story out of nothing, Florio. If you’re so sick of Favre wanting to unretire, stop putting words in his mouth.
But now the TJack retirement watch is on. Basically the same as the Favre retirement watch — Vikes fans are hoping for it, GB fans aren’t.

Are we talking about the guy who was 2nd in the MVP voting and led his team to the NFC Championship game last year? Just because he still loves the game doesn’t make him an egomaniac. Get over yourselves..
