On the eve of their annual effort to find the next Pacman Jones football player who will never get in trouble or embarrass the franchise, the Titans have extended the contract of one of the guys already on the team.
According to the Nashville Tennessean, tackle Michael Roos has agreed to a six-year, $43 million deal, which includes $15 million in guaranteed money and a $4 million roster bonus due in 2008.
Roos was a second-round pick in 2005, and he was due to earn a base salary of $625,000 in 2008, the final year of his contract.

Yes! Finally, the Titans resign one of their key young players…feels so good to actually keep them around long-term instead of let them run off (thanks for cap hell Floyd). This is why Reinfeldt didn’t break the bank on anyone last year or this year, you resign your own key guys and add a couple moderately-priced veterans here and there, keep yourself out of cap hell…and build a winning team. Now if only Vince can show improvement…
