I'm sorry...but KC does not need a qb. No one, not Tom Brady, not Peyton Manning would be able to perform behind that joke of an offensive line. I hate Carl Peterson....

People wondered why Bears GM Jerry Angelo personally attended two Boston College games this past season. Surely, they mused, it must have been to evaluate LT Gosder Cherilus because Chicago would never have the opportunity to get Matt Ryan all the way down at #14! Maybe it's a good thing Angelo didn't listen to anyone else and did his due diligence.

Yeah, I don't see the Panthers using 13 on him. They may trade out to someone, KC from 17, who wants him in front of the Bears.
Of course, Marty Hurney has only found 2 starters in the last 3 years, 26 picks overall. So yes, the Panthers take him at 13 and he flops.

Kiper was on ESPN earliler saying if Ryan goes past 8th to the Ravens that he would "pack up his hair gel" and quit the whole thing.

I hope the Panthers pass, they have a good young QB in Matt Moore and more pressing needs.

Quick, name the current starting KC QB...

If the Chefs, with their now 13 draft picks, including two 1sts, one 2nd and three 3rds, do NOT take QB Ryan with the the # 5 overall pick, it should only be because DE Chris Long slid to them (Jared who?) and they use the # 17 or #35 overall for QB Brohm or QB Flacco.

If DE Chris Long does NOT to slide to # 5 (and he should not), the Chefs MUST take QB Ryan there.

YOU wouldn't pass on Ryan at 14, but this is Bears management we're talking about here.

I'm not getting my hopes up.

Thankfully, the rounds are shorter this year, that way we won't have to watch his future ex-wife agonize over all the lost alimony for hours like we did with Quinn.

As a Bears fan, I can tell you after stomaching Grossman, surviving Orton, and Enduring Griese, under no uncertain terms would the Bears ever, under any circumstance, pass on Ryan at 14. A Leinart-like slide is the worst possible scenario for this kid.

As a Raven fan that is what I have been saying all along, why can't we trade back and still get him if we wan't?

Say Ellis is there at 8, I think the Ravens would take a deal with NO to drop back to 10. If someone else really wants Ryan the Raven will trade back and take Flacco Henne or Brohm or someone else later than round 2 if they are all gone by 38 (doubt it).

Personally I do not see any major difference in the 3 of them other than the money.

You're trusting that Herm Edwards and King Carl are good enough talent evaluators to make a rational decision on their QB.

They might just come to the conclusion that the Alabama kid can hack it.

Edwards left the cupboard bare at the Jets, so I see no reason for him to make intelligent personell decisions in KC.

Kyle Orton is constantly underestimated. Yes, I understand he sucked in 2005 as a rookie no one expected to play, but since then he's done nothing but work out and study under Brian Griese, who's game knowledge far exceeds his ability. He's 6'4", strong, smart, hard working, and has had a great mentor, I expect him to be very good this year as hopefully the starter. There's a reason they gave him the same extension they gave Rex.

Doesn't seem very comparable. Quinn was the huge hype that many thought should be top 5, but most knew better -- in a year, we're more sane people had little separation between Quinn and 3-5 other prospects. Ryan doesn't have the pedigree and the hype but apparently most see him as a top ten pick that can make it, with little other options. Sure, it's nice to consider who wants him and who doesn't but.... well, just get back to Walsh and Goodell. Those are interesting stories you have a grasp of. This seems like inane filler.
