Chad Johnson isn’t the only disgruntled veteran wide receiver who has been the subject of trade inquiries from the Washington Redskins.
Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that the Cardinals have declined a trade offer from the Redskins for wide receiver Anquan Boldin. Per ESPN, the Philadelphia Eagles also have asked whether Boldin is available and have offered cornerback Lito Sheppard as part of a trade.
The Redskins’ interest shows that they’re serious about adding a receiver who can improve their passing game now, rather than drafting a receiver they hope can improve their passing game in the future. Yesterday Bengals coach Marvin Lewis first denied, then admitted, that the Redskins had made an offer for Johnson.
As for Boldin, who is reportedly unhappy that teammate Larry Fitzgerald makes significantly more money than he does, the Cardinals say he’s not going anywhere.
“We’re not interested in trading Anquan,” Cardinals General Manager Rod Graves told the Arizona Republic. “That’s the short of it.”
Graves said he hopes to work out a long-term contract extension to keep Boldin in Arizona, but he did acknowledge that “a few teams have called to inquire” about making a trade.

The cardinals and Bengals should just trade with each other.

At this point, The Cowboys, Eagles and Redskins might as well resign themselves to the fact that nobody is going to give up a number 1 receiver this year and, if they do, their going to ask for a kings ransom in return. Drafting one at this point and not picking a turd( i.e. Freddie Mitchell, Rod Gardner) is about all they can hope for.

I heard an interview with AB last week on Sirius. It’s the total opposite of what you are reporting here. He said he’s very happy with Fitz’s contract and that he earned it. He believes that if you keep working hard and performing at a high level, your big payday will come, and he said that is exactly what he intends to do.
I know what you say publicly and privately are two different things, but he is very excited to be part of the AZ organization, and very proud of what they have been able to build around him and others. He isn’t going anywhere–that much he was clear about.

I hear the Eagles are interested in Tim Dwight too, so the Redskins figured they should offer the Raiders their 1st round picks this year and next year so they could outbid the Eagles, lmfao.

If they were desperate to get any wide receiver they would have overpaid for Javon Walker or Bernard Berrian.

The Birds think that Lito and his continual injuries and unwilliness to play hurt, will bring a decent reciever or pick in the draft. No one wants damaged goods or a soft player who is going to cry about his contract every other year. Where’s that signing bonus Lito?

Boldin is the heart soul of the Cardinals. Whiz knows it and so does management. Boldin plays @ 110% the fans know this. If the Bidwill’s allow a trade of Boldin UOPS will look like Sun Devil for a preseason game in August, empty.
Boldin stays!

coming from a birds fan, Reid & co would not be offering lito and picks to every team with a #1 wr supposedly aking for a trade like this, it would be decreasing the value for when they actually want to go through with a trade. if a trade is going to come at all, it will be on draft day when a team loses out on their pick and will be desperate for a proven shutdown corner (even though he is frequently injured)

i have to agree with jar94, you dont keep offering the same thing to every team. this will be a draft day trade of lito if they do indeed get rid of him, but really i am so sick of these cry baby’s and contracts. hey jack*** you signed it , it was good enough back then. sack up and be a man. maybe teams can start asking for money back when these “stars” don’t play like they should. anyway, the eagles have ok recievers the problem is you can’t run or throw from your back
the o line needs some help.

Come on now, Joe Banner says Lito is in the plans as a part of our future!!!
Jokes aside, I would love to have an upgrade at WR…I love pft during draft week.
It’s looking like the Eagles are going to have to do a three way trade…some team with a high pick gets Lito and #19, the pick goes to AZ/Cincy/Detroit, and we get the WR. Otherwise it doesn’t look like this is gonna happen…though I hope it does.

Lito’s not gonna be here. This is his last weekend as an Eagle unless we hold onto him until the June 1st cuts and package him then. As for our O-Line, it’s been one of the better lines in the NFL over the past several years. See William Thomas, Jon Runyan, and Shawn Andrews. The only WR that’s worth trading for is Roy Williams of Detroit. Boldin is another number 2 which the Eagles have plenty of. He’s only been healthy for 2 out of his 5 years in the league and has had problems holding onto the ball. And FYI, theres a better chance of Dallas trading TO back to Philly then there is of ocho stinko in midnight green this year. All the chemo-therapy in the world couldn’t cure Chad Johnson. He’s a cancer and I want nothing to do with him. Once 5 gets traded next year, he’s gonna want out and end up making TO look like a chior boy. Birds take o-lineman with first pick, 2nd pick will be a WR, 3rd pick will be secondary. Write it down.

they are for sure taking a lineman in the first round. we have a ok line, when andrews is not hurt or tra thomas is not hurt. mcnabb was sacked 44 times last year. 44 that is 3 highest in the league last year. we go line, then corner or safety. they are building the d for when kolb takes over.

I think our line is great. When 5 went down and Garcia took over, every analyst was saying that our line was the best in the league for the whole month of December. It hasn’t really changed at all since then except Garcia isn’t the QB anymore. (Ok, perhaps we could use an upgrade at center) And of course Donny was sacked 44 times last year. He holds onto the ball wayyyy too long. Anyway….heres to wishful thinking that Andy Reid goes safety in the first round and takes Kenny Phillips to replace B-Dawk!

When tra and shawn are well we play alot better. 5 should be a lot better this year. i think dawk is done after this year, unless they give a 2 year to retire as a eagle. my conern on the line is we cant get those 3rd and 1’s and goal to go’s, whether we need a bigger back or a better push i dont know. plus lj is hurt as much as lito so why not trade him too if celek pans out. god i miss chad lewis.
