Can you blame any team representative for not wanting to lower the value of a potential transaction by revealing that someone may or may not demand a trade?

Deceiving people is one thing, attacking another person's professional capability is another. All he has to do is say "We're not trading him" or "That's a crock" and it would have the same effect, but instead he goes after Cole's professional credibility.

Lawyer Florio: Does this pass muster for slander? I realize Cole would never actually file suit because his NFL sources would suddenly dry up if he sued an NFL exec, but I'm just curious how far over the line Parcells is going.

Can it really be a surprise that the Tuna lies or uses reporters? He's done it his whole career, even to those that he counts as his friends.

Remember "Final Season" with Will McDonough? Mortensen better remember it. Parcells was swearing up and down that he will never coach again, McDonough backed up those statements countless times on television and radio.

He's done that countless other times as well, just in smaller fashion. He's a manipulator, that's his style of behavior and coaching.

Um promichael, listen up, Parcells like every other intelligent coach or front office person, deceives for a living. It's virtually always in their best interest and this case is no different. How could he increase his leverage in this situation if he was honest from the start?

What is Tuna supposed to say, "Yes. We are thinking of trading Taylor. I know that admitting this significantly decreases our leverage, and considering how un great we were last year, we could really use max value for him. However, in the fairness of reporting, I am being as truthful as possible."??? News flash, when has the Big Tuna *ever* been truthful with the media or the NFL in general??

On his potential retirement from Dallas? Nope. On rumors he was testing the waters with the NYG on a potential GM position? Nope. With Atlanta? Nope. On whether or not there was tampering in regards to Dallas coaches/assistants/players before the seasomn was over? Nope.

Parcells was a great coach and a football genius, but he is also a guy who knows how to play the system, even if it means being dishonest directly to people's faces.

Parcells seems to have developed some sort of linguistic disorder, as I'm sure in his mind he made perfect sense ... I believe the scientific name for that illness is "Emmittsmithitis"

PFT is picking on Tuna again. The guy does not need me
to defend him but listen up: Just because Tuna states the
aformentioned concerning Jason Taylor's continuing to be
a Dolphin and is now shopping him does not mean the Tuna
has sought to mislead everyone. Jason Taylor as I have
read from many sources has asked to be traded. He has 2
years on his contract. If the Tuna can get a 1st round
pick for him with a team seeking to go to the Super Bowl,
so what! Does anyone think that the Bengals are not still
considering accepting the Washington Redskin's offer for a
1st round pick and a 3rd to become possibly another first?
Oh they are not truthfull if they change their mindset in
this volatile football market.
