If Chad Johnson, Roy Williams, and Anquan Boldin all happened to defect their current teams, and go to Chicago, the Bears still wouldn't be much better. Who knows, the Bears may already have an all star wide receiving cast, but as long as they fail to get a servicable (if not good) QB, the world will never know. I guess the real news here is, Davis did not sign with somebody else.

For the love of pigskin, when the Bears let a guy walk it's "What are they thinking!". But when they keep a dependable slot WR with good return skills for relatively little money it's whine, whine, whine. The coaches and front office have noticed the receiving abilities guys like Devin Hester, Mark Bradley and Greg Olson over the past two seasons, and so Rashied has seen less playing time so these guys get opportunities. However, that doesn't mean he's garbage, hell, he's still their best slot receiver.

These other guys are lining up at different receiver spots and have higher dollar values and draft picks associated with them. They're gonna get the nod over Davis for reps and playing time so they can be evaluated faster. One also has to remember the Bear's offense uses 3,4 & 5 receiver sets less often than most others in the NFL. I feel this signing carries alot of value considering the skills of the player and the amount of the contract.

Could somebody please tell Bear fans why they should care about this signing. Why don't they work on finding a number one receiver or for that matter a number one QB, RB and WR. I'm tired of 2 & 3's and talks of depth when they have no legitimate playmakers on offense. Jerry Angelo was right about one thing, it's business as usual at Halas Hall.

Chicago continues their mediocrity with this signing. They really don't have a lot of playmakers on offense. It'll be fun to watch them do poorly this year, however in that weak division I think they could possibly finish second.

I liked Davis' potential... two years ago.

Since then I've seen nothing from him.

Although it would help to get someone competent enough to get him the ball.

Ugh.
